Since its a new year I thought I would try again with my Kellys. Patrick Kelly b ca 1825 Ireland married Anna Gavin ca 1850 possibly in England. They lived in Manchester Engalnd in 1851 when they had a daughter Hannah. They also had a son William. That's all I have been able to find so far. Any connections anyone?? Pat

I believe this is a mistake. Richard Moon and Susanna Brown had both a Susanna & a Hannah. It is Susanna who married on 10 July 1782 to an Evan Lewis Guilford County, N. C. Hello, I'm new to this list and thought I'd post my line. The earliest Kelley I have is in Ireland - John Kelley born about 1788. His son John was my GGGG Uncle, born October 10, 1820 in Coolaney, County Sligo. He was married to Ellen T. Armstrong on April 24, 1848 in Killoran Parish, County Sligo. According to John's obituary John and Ellen immigrated to the US soon after they were married and lived in PA until 1853 when they moved to Owen Township, Winnebago Co, IL, near Rockford. This family was closely associated with the Armstrong and Black families who came from Sligo to PA and on to Illinois. They are found on the McClean Co KY census in 1880, worked for the railroad there at Livermore. Children: John, Michel, Bridget, Ellen, possibly others, all born in KY. Am seeking information on Kellys in County Sligo. Have seen Rootsweb/Kelly listings in the past for Doonaveeragh, and also Parish of Templeboy - would you please contact me? My John Kelly was born in 1840 in Ireland, his wife, born about 1853 was Sarah Shannon. His children included Mary, Alice, Bart, Julia, John, Sue, Margaret, Sarah, Catherine, Lee. Many were born in Ireland. Mary's daughter's baptismal certificate cites her mother's home county as Sligo. John may have had a brother, Thomas, who lived in the same area outside of Buffalo NY and also had son, Bartholomew -- leading me to believe their father's name in Sligo was Bartholomew. John's eldest daughter, Mary Ann, was married in 1889 in Buffalo NY. John Kelly died in 1900 and am awaiting a copy of his death certificate and info from their church. Does this look familiar to any Kellys from Sligo? Has anyone worked with Co. Sligo and can give me some advice?
