My WEBB information in Roane County, WV states that the mother of my ancestor, Catherine WEBB GREATHOUSE was Tina BAYS--for other reasons--her age, and the 1850 Washington County, VA census, the name was more than likely Elizabeth BAYS--I do not know first names of her parents--only that her mother was a KELLY who married a BAYS probably somewhere around Russell or Washington County, VA--Does any Kelly have a BAYS in his line? Thanks, Sandy Jarrett sjarrett@peachnet.campus.mci.net
In December, we had great success on the KELLEY list when we posted our "Most Wanted" KELLEY or KELLY. Since there are still more KELLEY cousins out there who haven't posted anything to the list yet, let's try a "Roll Call." Please don't put "Roll Call" in the subject line--more replies will result if we don't see "roll call" a million times. Let's try it like this: (for example): KELLEY: VA: James, William, George KELLY: County Mayo, Ireland: Patrick If you would like to join in the Roll Call and don't want to repeat your "Most Wanted" message from last month, here's another idea: Which of your KELLEYs do you know the *most* about? Perhaps it is your grandmother's family. Chances are that if you found it easy to gather information about your grandmother's family, perhaps a cousin on this list has had the same experience. Let's see if we can find some relatives. Paula Kelley Ward San Antonio, Texas pward@express-news.net "Genealogy is the art of confusing the dead and irritating the living.
Hi Everyone Paula it looks like you are the Kelley List Owner. I am the List Owner of the Shirley List and in SC the Kelly/Kelleys and Shirleys are connected in a big way. My wife's line is Kelly/Kelley and I have info. on that line back to David b 1672 in Europe>VA>NC>Darlington Co. SC.>MISS>AL>TX. Since Rootsweb did not have a Shirley List, I became the Owner, because the Shirleys also go from NC>SC>GA>MISS. So what I am trying to say is if anyone needs info. on the Kelly/Kelley or Shirley line starting in Darlington Co. SC I may be able to help or you may can help me. I have put a book togeather on this line which has the Shirley line (13 generations, 509 pages) I can make copys of the book at a cost of $39.95 plus $3.95 for mailing. Also if someone would like one part of this info. say on one family, if I have that info. and I can send it email, no cost. I hope everyone does not think I am trying to make money on this info. because I print every thing on my printer and that is what it cost me. I would like to thank Paula and everyone on this list for your time and if I can help please let me know. Frank Melton Shirley List Owner (efmelton1@aol.com)
Hello, I am searching for any information on a Willa KELLY b. ca 1816 Maria, Marion Co, North Carolina who married Presley DAVIS 25 June 1831 in Edgar Co, Illinois. Their daughter, Mary DAVIS, also married a KELLY (first name unknown). I realize this information is sketchy, but if it sounds at all familiar with anyone, I would appreciate hearing from you! Thanks! Susan (Sue) Gates Davis smgdavis@aol.com
I was discussing this gentleman with a list member over the last two days. My computer died on me and I lost the saved e-mails and some of the e-mail address's. Would this person please re-email me? I have asked an Anderson clan member if they know of anything. I have not received a reply yet. Mike Kelly firewalker@gibralter.net

I am new to this list, and would like to post my "Kelley puzzle".... Tried this last night, but evidently it wasn't posted as I didn't have the right format....Thanks, Paula, for giving me the 'heads up.' I am hoping to connect with descendants of: Henry Kelley, married 3 Nov 1800, Milton VT to Candan/Candace Harrington (dau of Antipas and Levinah (Brigham) Harrington) Candan/Candace Harrington was born ca 1782 in Walpole, NH, and died in 1849 in Essex (Essex Jct??) VT. Henry and Candan/Candace had at least two children (that I know of...): Salome/a Kelley - b. ca 1803, Essex, Chittenden VT, married James Allen Parsons 7 Sept 1824, VT, and died 26 Jan 1826, in Essex Jct, VT. They had one child, Heman Parsons. After the death of Salome/a, James Allen Parsons married her sister, Lydia. Lydia Kelley was born 3 Dec 1809 Essex, Chittenden VT, married James Allen Parsons 27 Dec 1827, and died after 1872, probably in Essex Jct, VT. They had several children. I am also interested in Harrington Kelley who was born about 1812, who married Celinda (unkn last name), and Horace Kelley, age 34 in 1880 who married Leona (unkn last name). Both were living in VT in the 1880 census. Thanks! Karen Rinnert Parsons
