I am looking for any information on Allen KELLEY from Fayette County, Ohio. He was born in 1882 in Madison County, Ohio. His wife's names was ELIZABETH CHAPMAN. All of their children were born in Fayette County. I do know that Allen had a brother by the name of HOWARD KELLEY and that Howard was married to ETHEL SEXTON. They also resided in Fayette County. Allen and Elizabeth are my great-grandparents and my grandmother only knew their names as she was raised by her uncle. Thank you for any help you may be able to give me. Teresa Kidd

Hi, Kim, I did a search through the KELLEY List Archives: Mailing List Archives for the KELLEY list and other RootsWeb Lists: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl and found the below message. Hope this helps. There was some discussion about whether he jumped or fell from the ship. Anyone have a Kelly who was a Catholic priest and died at sea in the late 1800's. ______________________________ - ---------------------------- On Tuesday, February 02, 1999 10:24 PM, Susan Hochstetler [SMTP:suzyQimmy@webtv.net] wrote: > Hi...I remember reading somewhere that a Kelley/Kelly coming to the US > or CAN either fell overboard or was picked up by a passing ship that > found him in the water.... <snip>

Hi...I remember reading somewhere that a Kelley/Kelly coming to the US or CAN either fell overboard or was picked up by a passing ship that found him in the water. I didn't really pay much attention at the time because I don't hae much on my Kelly's and wouldn't have been able to make a connection, however, recently I met the children Of my grt aunt Alice Hilsabeck. They are all between 60 & 75 and we got to talking about the info. we have gatherd on the family. They told me a story similiar to the one above abt. a Kelly relative of ours. I was ready to kick myself when I recalled that I had heard it before, though from a site or a list. So, if someone has this info, or knows where I can find it, please please contact me. Thanx, Kim ****My Kelly's that I know of at this time... Charlotte Kelly b. 1845(?) m. abt. 1863 d. abt. 1929 m. Charles Angus d. abt. 1922. Also, George Henry Kelly m. either Carrie Kellogg or Grace Waggoner. George was b. after Charlotte so he's either a younger brother, a nephew, or cousin. They are all from MI- George had 3 children, the girls were Mable & Nettie(?), I have dates for Geore & children but would have to look them up.

I am seeking the origins of Daniel KELLEY/KELLY (ca 1801 - 1861-71), catholic, born in Ireland, married 1845 to Maria FLEMING in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada. I am also looking for 3 of their sons for whom I can find no information in Ontario: John (ca 1847), Michael (ca 1848) and Thomas (ca 1849). They didn't live that far from the USA and Quebec borders so may have moved to either place to settle. -- Mary A. Regarding the Kelley family of Seneca County, New York, the will of David D. Kelley who was born January 18, 1772 Sommerset, New Jersey, son of David Kelley and Mary Cunningham, died May 13, 1804, Ovid, Seneca County, New York. The Administrator of the estate was his uncle, Charles Kelley. David's children were Sarah, born Oct. 14, 1795, Mary, born May 5, 1798, William D. born May 3, 1802 and Elizabeth, born June 13, 1804. His wife's name was Mary. David was thirty two when he died. I was researching this family because I thought that there was a connection to my Kelley family who were from Worchester and Middlesex Counties, Massachusetts, later the family moved to Windham County, Vermont circa 1775. Up to this point, I cannot find a connection, except that my Kelley family lived for a spell in Romulus which is not too far from Ovid and Lodi which was the home of Charles and David Kelley. My Kelley family left Seneca County around 1830 for Orleans and Wyoming County, New York. Best wishes, Fran jporter271@ol.com Frances Porter 1658 Eleventh Ave. San Francisco, CA 94122
