I have a Jane Kelly listed on the 1850 Census as living in the 2nd Ward of Allegheny, Allegheny Co., Pa. She was 79 years old in 1850 which would mean her birth date would be ca 1771. It lists her birth place as PA. Living with her was Mary Neel 40; John Neel 11 and William Neel 4. William Neel is my g-grandfather. I am trying to find out if there is a connection with this Mary Neel who's maiden name was Vance. Neither Jane Kelley nor Mary Neel had a husband listed. I would appreciate any info that you might have on this Jane Kelley. She is not listed on the 1860 census. The name could possibly be Mary Jane Kelley. I have spent years and years attempting to find anything on this lady. I am sure that I am not the only person attempting to find info on the Kelly's in Allegheny Co., Pa. during this time and I would appreciate any suggestions that you might give me. Clare in Florida

Any info on Conecuh Co. Kellys wanted. Thomas Gabriel Kelly m. Nancy Deen there 1868. His father in Dale Co. 1850; James D. b. 1824/6 AL. This isn't too far apart; and some of my Kellys ended up in Florida panhandle. Jackson Co. that part that became Washington Co., maybe Holmes Co. as well. There is the story of a relative in Rev. War who served with Lafitte. Suspect some Indian blood; they said "Black Irish". I haven't been able to contact only known male from this line for DNA; still trying. I know this is a long shot, but I am trying to find out information about my Great Grandmother, DRUSILLA JOSEPHINE KELLY. She was born DEC. 25,1842 and died Sept. 26, 1900. Not sure of her place of birth, but was supposedly in Union County, SC/NC. She died in Darlington, S. C. She married Joshua J. Caldwell in 1857 in Mecklenburg, NC. I don't know anything else about her. In my Mother's brides book is a card signed "Love Mrs. Joe R. Kelly. This was in September 1939. Does anyone have any idea or know who this Mrs. Kelly may be. I am hoping she may be related or know something about Drusilla Kelly. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Tanya C. My William Green Kelley, b. 1822 (later Jasper, Co or "near the capitol, Jackson) in MS Territory. He had told his children that he was one of NINE brothers. On several census records he indicated his parents were born in SC, but no one knows their names. I visited Darlington, SC a number of years ago and tried to contact a local Kelley genealogist but she was out of town at the time and her husband refused to let me see her records. I had traveled from S. Texas & was crushed that I was unable to talk with this lady. Maybe someone out there knows who she is (was?) and knows how to access these records ------- . At that time, the courthouse at Darlington was FULL of various Kelleys, but I had a generation gap to deal with & had no way to connect.
