    3. There are a number of spellings of our name in the English lnguage. They include O'Ceallaigh, O'Kelly, O'Kelley, Kelly, Kelley and all are correct as there is no official spelling of the name. A number of those of the name are spelling the name as O'Ceallaigh. These are the name Anglicised. Then there are the name in other languages such as French & Spanish. We would love to find a connection to the Kelley's of Westmoreland County. Thank you. Kaen (Kelley) Mains

    2. I'm hoping I've made a breakthrough in my research on my ancestor Lawrence KELLEY. I found an census today of Shelby County, Alabama 1850 that has a James KILLY and Samuel KILLY family both born in North Carolina. Here is the transcript. Enumerated on Dec. 24, 1850 Shelby Co, AL no TWP listed H.H. 1075 James KILLY..........49......M......farmer.........NC Mary --------...........36......F.........................NC Eliza ----------...........19......F.........................NC Lawrence ----..........16......M........................NC Washington----........10......M........................AL Patrick-----------.........9.......M........................AL Thomas---------......... 8.......M........................AL Lydia------------...........6.......F.........................AL John -----------............4.......M........................AL H.H. 1076 Samuel Killy............37........M....farmer..........NC Kesiah ------..............25........F.......................NC Samuel ------..............14........M.....................NC Jane??------.................8..........F....................AL Mary-------...................6..........F....................AL Albert------..................4...........M...................AL Sarah........................1...........F....................AL Or course in the next census they are now Kellys still in Shelby County, AL. Hoping someone has a connection they can share. I've been working on this family for over 12 years. 3. Pegi, I have lived in the metro Atlanta area for over 40 years and have never heard of St. Anthony's. However, Gordon Street has, over the years transitioned into an all black community and if St. Anthony's still exists I doubt the marriage records do. You can obtain copies from the Georgia Department of Vital Records, probably on their website. Also, there was a Lester Kelly who was quite an amateur golfer in Georgia back in the 1950's and won several tournements. I even caddied for him when he won a tournement in my hometown back about 1954 or 1955. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Kelly" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 16, 2005 5:48 PM Subject: Re: [KELLEY] KELLY/KELLEY > Pegi , if you do not have any luck there. you might want to contact the > Church > (* I am assuming Catholic ) in Boston where she was Baptized.
