    2. I read with interest this portion of your note to Pegi. In what county were you and this Lester Kelly playing golf (or lived?) while you knew him? My grandfather, Carl Kell(e)y had a brother named Lester. I think they lived in the Cobb County, GA area or a surrounding county. I wonder if it is possible that the Lester Kelly you caddied for was my grand-uncle? Do you know if Lester was married and if so if her name was Christine? Did the Lester have any children? I look forward to hearing from you when you have a moment! :) Karla Kelley-Cardell Georgia In a message dated 5/22/2005 7:39:20 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Also, there was a Lester Kelly who was quite an amateur golfer in Georgia back in the 1950's and won several tournements. I even caddied for him when he won a tournement in my hometown back about 1954 or 1955. ************ Karla Kelley-Cardell Metter, GA http://www.fathersloveletter.com/fllpreviewlarge.html

    2. Avie, I found your name interesting. I had an "Avey/Avy Kell(e)y" in my ancestry, from the early 1800's here in Georgia. Is yours a nickname or were you named after someone in the family? My Avey Kelly was daughter to James Kelly and Emaline/Emily Watkins who were in Lumpkin County, GA in 1850. Avey eventually married George Wehunt and they are buried in Cherokee County, GA with Emily Watkins-Kelley (her mother) with them. I am searching for info on that line, too. My mother was Maggie Kelley b.1913 to Mary C (Crawley) Kelley and Bob Kelley. I will let you know if I come across Mary Kelley... 1. JAMES KELLEY BORN 1868 NOVA SCOTIA
    2. Hello to everyone on the Kelley list! I am looking for information on my g-g-grandfather James Kelley. He was born in Nova Scotia about 1868 in either Liverpool or Milton, both in Queens County. All I can find out so far is from his 1892 marriage record to Sarah Messer in Revere Massachusetts. ( she was also born in Nova Scotia about 1870 ) According to the marriage record his parents were John and Emma ( Winnik ) also spelled Winock, which is probably Weinacht spelled phonetically. Thanks, Jack Kelly.

    1. KELLEY/KELLY Surname DNA Project
    2. Raymond Kelly
    3. KELLEY/KELLY Surname DNA Study: I am the Coordinator of the Study whose objective is to provide confirmation of the links to our KELLEY/KELLY ancestors. Many of us have traced our ancestor's back to a "Brick Wall" using family records and public records but can not conclusively identify the parents of our ancestor. DNA testing provides us with an independent tool to break that barrier through linkage identifying other descendants of those same Parents. A 12 marker Male Paternal Test cost $99. It is only necessary to test 1 male from your Kelley/Kelly Line with Surname Kelley/Kelly to determine if you are related to the other Kelly's that take the Test. The cost can be split among all the family members of your line. In brief form, if your lines 12 DNA Markers match with one of the other lines tested then you are related. Since both lines must submit the data on their Paternal (Father to Son) line of descent it begins to fill in the Family Tree. Test Results and Family Groupings will be displayed on the Kelley/Kelly Web Page as each test is completed. A Family Tree Diagram will be furnished at the completion of the Study. The test is performed by taking a saliva sample from your mouth with a swab from the Kit supplied by Family DNA Testing. Mail the swab back in the container supplied and wait for your test results. More information can be seen at the Web Site <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kellydnaproject/index.htm> Go to this site and select the Link on the left side of the page "Sign Up". After filling out the Forms on the KELLEY/KELLY DNA Group Website you will be linked to the Family Tree DNA Website where you will fill in the data for the person to receive the Kit. If you are paying for a family member to receive the Kit fill in your Credit Card information and your E-Mail address to receive the results. The key to a successful result is having a test from a lot of different Kelley/Kelly lines. Best Regards, Raymond Kelly [email protected]
