    3. Hi Rita, There must be a match out there somewhere. I am surprised at the DNA diversity of our Group so far. No on else in the group is even close to mine (31374). I found that my loci is exclusive to the Vikings. I was a little skeptical until I delved deeper into the History of Ireland and discovered the Vikings did not just come to Ireland to loot and pillage. They colonized many areas starting about 800 AD and controlled the City of Dublin as a Viking Fort for more than a hundred years. In a Book on the History of Surnames it stated that when some families assumed Surnames in Ireland around 1400 AD that at least 7 families in different areas of Ireland adopted the Surname KELLY. This doesn't include the Isle of Man and other islands off the coast. Getting us tied to the right Family group may take a while. Best Regards, Raymond Kelly ----- Original Message ----- From: Rita Louk To: Raymond Kelly Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2005 8:19 PM Subject: Re: Fw: KELLEY/KELLY DNA Project Raymond The earliest known ancestor to kit # 40575 is John Kelley (Kelly), of Newbury, Mass. Born about 1615 in England and died 28 Dec 1644 in Newbury, Mass. Thanks so much. I am now waiting to hear the results of Roger Kelley of the Isles of Shoals fame. Maybe he will be the one who matches my William. So far I have had no luck !!!!! Rita in Ks. The URL for this site is: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/kelley/ To put these results on our Webpage which is hosted by rootsweb, I have to copy and paste the results from the FTDNA page into Excel and then edit the results before uploading them to our Webpage. Our Webpage URL is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kellydnaproject/index.htm I only upload to our Webpage when I have more than one Test complete, because it is a tedious process and it usually takes two or three attempts to get it correct. Could you give me Clif Kelley's earliest known ancestor so that I can include it on the Chart. Thanks, Raymond Kelly I cannot find the results for kit number 40575 which the Family Tree DNA >group said was posted on our Kelley DNA family site. His first wife was Maryland Belle Parker, and she was the mother of Lora Vale Kelley who married Galen H. Freeman, MD. My grandfather was a country doctor for 70 years in the Plano community of Warren County. John and Nancy Kelley had a son Henry who was the father of George Thomas Kelley. John and Nancy are buried at Old Union Cemetery in Warren County, as are Henry and his wife, Elizabeth Stevens Kelley. I believe that this is all the same Kelley family as you are looking at, but tying them all together has been hard. The monument is one that was put up in the past century. I just know that his name is on it, so I will have to go down and look at it to get more information. I also believe that Miles Kelley is tied in with this group. I know that Beal was in Robertson County Tn. at one time also. Judy Schwank

    2. Herman
    3. Joanne: Read your comment about Kelley's being with Boones with some interest. My GGM was Kate Kelley, born in Ohio, known to have worked in Kentucky as a domestic, married (?) Omer Boone who was born in Kentucky. This union produced a daughter, Cecelia, who was born in Cincinnati on 5/31/1883, died in Cincinnati 4/27/1913. I have not been able to find any supporting info on Kate / Omer... this has been another brick wall in my research. Curiously, "Omer" may have been "Amer", but miswritten as "Omer". "Amer" may have been a variant of 'Americus', but cannot be proven. When she was alive, my mother said that her lineage went back to Daniel Boone, but the Amer/Omer linkage cannot be substantiated. Have you run across any of these errant relatives in your readings?
