I am not exactly sure where they came from, so am hoping to find a connection with someone. James Kilkelly married Anne O'Donald (O'Donnell) 23 October 1842 in Roman Catholic Church West Maitland, in the county of Northumberland, NSW Australia - according to the NSW BDM records. The certificate does not give any other details. As far as I know (family story), they had a daughter Mary born c. 1843/4. There are no records of Mary that I can find here in Australia, but she was one of NSW first women public servants. She is said to have been engaged, but her fiancee wanted to settle in USA, she didn't. He left & she found she was pregnant. The son, John, (of Mary) is said to have been raised by James & Anne as their own -baptised by them -NSW certificate states 14 April, 1844 in West Maitland etc. The problem I have with all this, is that on John's death certificate it states he died aged 79 yrs, in 1951, which would make him 107 when he died. All other details say it is the same person, but I have no other leads. Does this Kilkelly family tie in with yours from Galway? I am stuck & am looking for a lead to follow. Regards Sandra
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Alfred BURT which was taken at the Stevens Studio in Richmond, Michigan. The photograph was probably taken in the 1880's with Alfred probably in his teens at the time. Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of Alfred BURT b. Richmond, MI to parents Louis BURT and Maria MARTIN. The family was living in Richmond during the 1880 census. The family was recorded as follows: Lewis BURT age 52 b. NY Farmer Parents b. England Maria BURT age 49 b. Eng Housewife Parents b. England Albert L. BURT age 17 b. MI Farm Laborer F. Vernon BURT age 15 b. MI Farm Laborer Henry E. BURT age 13 b. MI Attending School Alfred M. BURT age 7 b. MI I believe that Alfred later married Amy KELLEY on the 14th of June 1905 in Port Huron, MI. I'm hoping to locate someone from this BURT Family so that the photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CYm.2ACIB/3193 Message Board Post: I have an Adam Kelley born about 1800 in Virginia OR Ohio. The earliest census I can find him on is 1830, where he is living in Rockbridge County Virginia. Adam Kelley married Elizabeth Teel, 29 Aug 1823 in Botetourt Virginia. I can only assume that Botetourt is where Elizabeth's family lived. I can not find them in the 1840 census. By 1850 they are living in Cabell County W.VA, with 6 children: James Kelley b 1832, Samuel Kelley b 1834, Adam Kelley b 1836, Peter Kelley b 1838, Philip and Lucy Kelley b 1842 (twins) I find it unlikely that their first child was born 9 years after marriage. Based on the 1830 census in Rockbridge, there were 3 unidentified children living in the house hold. It is possible they died or, by 1850, had married and started families of their own. Also in the 1850 census for Tazewell County Virginia, Elizabeth Teel Kelley's parents, Philip Teel b 1762 and Lucy Teel b 1765, are living with a Peter Teel (poss. a grandchild or son to Philip and Lucy Teel). There were a number of Teel families in Tazewell County in 1850 who ALL ended up in Missouri or Iowa in 1860. I do know that at some time between 1850-1853, Lucy Teel ended up in Cabell County W.VA, where she died 27 Sep 1853 in the Pea Ridge (Barboursville area). So it is likely that other Teel's traveled to Cabell County as well between that time frame. Adam Kelley, Elizabeth Kelley and 5 of their chilren: James, Adam, Peter, Philip and Lucy Kelley, moved to Lee County Iowa. Samuel Kelley stayed in Cabell County where he married Elizabeth Hensley Oct 1859 and he died on his homestead on Booten Creek in 1922. Samuel never heard from his parents or siblings again. So, I am looking for other family that may be searching these lines. Trying to find out if Adam had siblings..who his parents were...etc Thanks Ruth

William Kelley was born in King's County, Ireland, on 28 February, 1831, and died in Bay City, Michigan, on 9 August, 1910. Sarah was born in London, England, on 29 April, 1854, and died in Bay City, Michigan on 7 April, 1940. William came to America ca. 1850 and first settled in Buffalo, New York. He worked on many ships sailing the Great Lakes for a number of years, later becoming a Bay County (MI) official. Sarah moved with her family from England to America in 1857, when she was only three. Her family also settled in Buffalo. Children of William and Sarah were Genevieve, William M., Georgiana, and Arthur. I have information on the Waite family that I would be willing to share with anyone who would like more knowledge of Sarah's family. Sarah was a sister of my great-grandfather, Richard A. Waite. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has further information about William or Sarah.
