    2. I haven't spoken to him for over a year now, but last I heard he was doing ok, he's in his 70's I think. He was hard of hearing last time we spoke, he is who I received a lot of my family history from. I wouldn't have come so far if not for him. He lives in Tx. I assume this is the same Charles Edwards. I do have a phone # for him, if this the right one and you would like to speak to him. Author: DavisHello Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/2195.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: David Decker, if you're still out there, do you have any information on where Freeman Waugh, the elder, was buried? My information suggests that his daughter Cynthia Waugh is in my line and is the first wife of my Jabez Payne. It would seem she died and he remarried. Jabez Payne was in Commerce Michigan in the 1850 census, and I have found record that he purchased a cemetery lot in the Commerce Township cemetery in 1848. I think it might be his second wife. The younger Freeman Waugh (1832-1915) is buried in Maple River Cemetery, Shiawassee County, Michigan. I have been there, though that would seem to make him too young to be married to your Charlotte Kelley, maybe there were three generations of Freeman Waughs? Jabez Payne is buried in Maple River also, so I'm thinking they moved together to Shiawassee County. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Joan_Grenada Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/2727.5/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Actually, Smithy Smith married the son of Richard Campbell, James Campbell and not William. In the Fairfield SC land records, James and Smithy sold land prior to the move to TN.and she is listed as his wife. They lived there in 1800 along with Richard Campbell and Rachel, after moving from Richmond and prior to going to TN. This record was found per Linda ORouke, who descends from Richard Campbell and purposes James was Richard's son. E-mail address is LOROURKE@houston.rr.com. She will freely share any info she has on the Smiths and Campbells. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Joan_Grenada Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/2727.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: John Smith SR was the son of James Smith and wife Sarah, Richmond CO NC. He had son John, James,Charles, Benjamin, Sarah Smith Napier, wife of John M Napier and Mary Smith Ward. Deed records in Richmond list many land transactions of these peeople. Apparently the sons moved to Maury CO TN with John Smith, whose daughter Rachel married Richard Campbell, going to Williamson. John Smith and James Campbell are listed as neighbors in Richmond, living next to each other in 1790. The will of Mary Ward can be found there in Maury as well as mention of names that were noted on the land transactions in Richmond...James Turner and Sil Chunn [Sylvester]. The records are online for Richmond CO NC and Maury CO TN at http://www.tngenweb.org/maury/, under index of wills. The Smith family is well documented.
