    1. [KELLER] The Archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau comes through!
    2. I announce happy news about the Keller family from Bischweier, and since it is fairly extensive, I am only going to type it into the computer once, so everyone with the mildest interest is getting the same version. Since LDS doesn't have the microfilms for this parish (Amt Rastatt, Baden), the researcher at the Erzbischoefliches Archiv copied these for me off the films they just had done (after I asked about the town). Daniel Keller was baptized April 13, 1802. His father was Lorenz Keller [son of Joseph Keller and a wife who will remain illegible until I find my magnifying glass], born November 4, 1779--d. May 5, 1836. His mother was Margaretha Schaefer [daughter of Georg Schaefer and an equally illegible wife], born July 6, 1776--d. January 5, 1821. Lorenz Keller and Margaretha Schaefer were married November 25, 1799. Luise Mayer was baptized July 7, 1804. Her father was Aegid Mayer [son of Georg Mayer and Martina Mack], born February 21, 1778--died November 6, 1839. Her mother was Elisabetha Stocher daughter of Andreas Stocher from Gaggenau and Chr. Haugenberger], born December 14, 1777--no date of death in the Bischweier Familienbuch. Aegid (or Aegidius) Mayer and Elisabetha Stocher were married January 16, 1804. Daniel Keller and Luise Mayer married April 8, 1826. The following children of Daniel Keller and Luise Mayer were baptized at Bischweier: the children were baptized there: Regina Keller, illegitimate, later legitimized, born September 2, 1825. Genovefa Keller, born December 3, 1826. Simon Keller, born November 13, 1828. Karl Keller, born July 21, 1831. Karolina Keller, born February 24, 1834. Luitgard Keller, born October 17, 1838. Amalie Keller, born May 6, 1845. There is no marriage for Richard Rauenbuehler and Regina Keller at Bischweier, but their daughter Karoline (baptized as Keller rather than Rauenbuehler) was born January 11, 1851, listed as an illegitimate birth. It's definitely the correct child, for the priest most conscientiously also listed her maternal grandparents in the baptismal record. I have a lot more to work through on this--godparents, of course, and the notices from the Familienbuch on Lorenz Schaefer and Aegid Mayer give the parents for both them and their wives, and a bunch more children. The priest's handwriting ran to ruffles and flourishes, which is the case for the notes about illegibility that I have above. I'll get it yet, though. Happy hunting! Virginia
