I have come across a passport or personal identification document/book with entries dated around 1844 from Germany (Prussia). The name in the book is a Johann Julius Keller, most entries he goes by Julius Keller. The book identifies Julius as 18 years of age. If I'm reading the entries correctly (ca. 1844/1842) I place Julius born around 1824. Entries show he was born in a Town with the name of Lucka. There are two German listing for Lucka on the map that I could find. Based on some of the entries, I think the town of Lucka from which Julius came from is in the eastern part of Germany, half way between Leipzig and Zwickau. The book contains numerous entries concerning his travels throughout Germany, each location is stamped by a police official. Some of the later entries (1847) place Julius in the area of Hannover and Hamburg. Perhaps he later emigrated to the United States. Anyway, I located this mailing list on rootsweb and I thought someone may have knowledge of Julius Keller and would be interested in this book. I would like to get this book to its rightful owner(s).
