Hi, I have found so many errors in the older census material, many were illiterate and tried their best for their area, not just the spelling but ages have many times been wrong depending on who the census taker spoke to in the house, also, what state did your husb./wife parents come from is often wrong depending on who answered the question if only one of them was home when the census taker came to the house. Ex.-If husb,/wife said "I think they came from" that is what was written down. Immigrants changed the spelling of their name on a whim if they thought it looked better for whatever reason, we all have seen that occur from our ancestors in whatever country. Let's get a little mad at them for all their spelling changes, not at eachother hundreds of years later! Barbara
