Thanks for your kind welcome note (attached), it would be great to find some unknown cousins. My last name is KELLEN, and my family roots go back to Western Kentucky's Union and Henderson Counties in 1836. It was then my gggrandfather William Ennis KELLEN (1827-1878) and his brother Thomas KELLEN (1832-1858) were "Bound out" children due to the deaths of their parents, John and Polly. William was adopted by the BUCKMAN family and Thomas by the MULLER family. They lived the rest of their lives around Smith Mills, Kentucky in Henderson County. William married Mary Ann BOWLES in 1848 and Charity Ann GRIGGS in 1851. He and Charity had 12 children, including my ggrandfather Thomas James KELLEN (1855-1944). Thomas James married Hanna Graham Brown and they had 4 children, including my grandfather Add Young KELLEN. Add married Mary Elizabeth Reddick in 1915 and they had 4 children, including my father James Allen KELLEN. All these KELLENs lived in and around Smith Mills, Morganfield and Sturgis, Ky. The name KELLEN is pronounced and spelled several ways, including KEELAND, KEYLON, KEELIN, KEELING. I'm not sure if there's a connection to KELLAM, but it is certainly very close. I am looking for anything on John and Polly KELLEN, as I only know their names from 1836 Union County, KY court records when their two sons were put out for adoption. I have no proof of where they came from, but suspect IRELAND or GERMANY. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to provide assistance. Regards.
