    1. [KELLAM] Al Gore's Kellum Connection?
    2. Hello to the Kellum group: You just never know where the Smith Kellum bunch will turn up, do you? Please do not take this as an endorsement of any sort, but while wandering around on the Internet recently I saw an item that I thought would be of interest to the list. I have no idea if this is correct, but there was a posting indicating that Smith Kellum was the 5th-great grandfather of Vice President Al Gore on his maternal side, as outlined below: Smith Kellum/Nancy or Mary Nancy Kellum (1780-1851)/Jonathan Stephenson (1760-1801) Mann Patterson Stephenson (1814-1831)/Sophia Todd Malcus A. Stephenson (1838-1916)/Annie Joyner Luna Stephenson (1867-1938)/Simpson W. Lafon Walter Lafon/Maude Gallin Pauline Lafon/Albert Gore, Sr It was said that Nancy Kellum was born on Nov. 12 1780 in VA and died on 11 May 1851 in Weakley Co, TN. She was said to have married Jonathan Stephenson on 5 Sept 1801 in Wake Co, NC. He had been born on 11 Jan 1760 in Cumberland Co, NC. Perhaps someone on the list who has a greater knowledge of the Smith Kellum family can tell us if they think that this could be correct. Do the surnames of Mann or Patterson have any connection to the Kellum family, or did this given name of Mann Patterson for the son of Nancy Kellum come from the Stevenson side of the family? I do believe that old Smith Kellum would be a little surprised to see his name magically appear on one of these computer boxes, compliments of the Internet which his 5th-great grandson invented, don't you think? My best regards, Ron Bullock P.S. This ancestry as posted was a little hard to follow, so someone might like to double check me on this by having a look at: http://hometown.aol.com/elrondlair/page3.htm
