Stephenson was born in 1838 after his father died in 1831. However, I went back and rechecked the web site given, and this is what it said. This is an obvious mistake, though, because it also said that M. P. Stephenson and Sophia Todd were married on 4 April 1837 in Wake Co, NC. If this is any indication, then maybe JK is correct, and is is not the 5th cousin, once removed, of the VP. Sorry about the mistake, and my apologies to JK, Ron
