I am looking for information on my grandmother's second husband, Solon Ross Kellam. He was the son of Maudie Woods and John Fletcher Kellam. Solon raised my mother, and she loved him dearly. He passed away in July of 1973. I know that Maudie Woods was a school teacher in the Johnson City, Texas area and at one time taught Lyndon Baines Johnson. I also know that John Fletcher Kellam had a barber shop in Austin, Texas, and Clyde Barrow came into the shop one day for a hair cut and a shave. John Fletcher Kellam recognized him, and Clyde Barrow kept a gun pointed at Solon (who was just a little boy at the time)under the barber's cape, so that John Fletcher would cooperate. I would like ANY information on this family, biographical and or genealogical. Solon Ross Kellam married my grandmother, Nova Estelle (Novie) Roberts Stark on November 21, 1949 in Austin, Travis Co., Texas. He raised my mother,Barbara, and they had another child, Anthony Carroll Kellam, on September 26,1953 in Austin, Travis Co., Texas. John Fletcher Kellam and Maudie Woods children were: Winnie Irene Kellam who married Ernest Hobbs, Ruby Kellam, who married 1. Oscar Bishop and 2. Grenade Hunter, and Solon Ross Kellam who married Nova (Novie) Estelle Roberts Stark.
