The source is United States of America's Cong. Medal of Honor Recip. and their Officail Citations in which I did not find his name or any other information. If the name is wrong or the spelling please contact us again and we see what we can do for you. Sincerely Victoria Leslie ============================================================= Dear Brenda, First of all I did not doubt your email, but thought if I could get some info him it might place him or connect him to my Kellums. My 4th ggf was Henry Kellum (traced bck to Chatham & Wake Co's in NC) he had, I am sure, a brother named Smith Kellum, married in Accormack Co VA. who later moved into Chatham and into TN into Davidson co. TN. Henry & wife, Martha Callhoun Kellum moved from NC into D avidson Co, TN. He was injured, by a bear, and died in Dec of 1799. One of Henry's dau's was Sarah Bell Kellum, my 3rd ggm. She married John Douglass & their dau Mary Douglass married Jared Martin, my 2nd ggp's Their son James Allen my 1st ggf.his son Frank Douglass Martin my gf, my mother Marcile Meredith Martin m H.D. Compton, my father. I latch onto any Kellum I find. Often find name in same family as Kellam, um, im according to whichever person wrote it. Many of our ancestors were not too well educated and often signed with mark. Did you perhaps have wrong spelling ? Tho lady above did not mention any Kellum. I don't want to be a party pooper, but where did you get your info. I saw your email in Kellum newsletter/messages. I am on mailing list. I do know that young Smith Kellum came to Ark.Terr. in 1819 with his sister, Sarah Bell & family & other relatives ......... some 15 in all to settle in/near Little Rock, Pulaski Co area. He married Jane Pyeatt in 1822. Both died, fairly young, in 1837 & 38. leaving 8 children, 15-2 yrs old. They were parceled out among other relatives. Dau Emily lived with my gggf Jared Martin, on 1850 census. A number of them moved, in later yrs, to Texas, near San Marcos and Decatur. Co's. That is why your email intrigued me. Sincerely, Meredith Gibson
