You might start with your earliest Kellam ancestor and list the descendant's - or post the descendant you are "stuck" on - post the area you know they lived in - post the vital records of the family, etc. Any tidbid of information that is passed on may help someone else make a new connection. Good luck in your research & welcome to the list! At 05:26 PM 09/07/2000 -0400, "Carole Floyd" <cfloyd@visi.net> wrote: >I am very new to this. How do I introduce myself to the list? The following is from memory in the interest of making a fast first reply to your query. Do not treat this as fact until we can confirm we are talking about the same Hinch Kellems: MyGGgrandfather, Charles Isaac Kellems had a brother named Hinch. They were sons of Asa Kellam and were born in what was then Hardin Co, KY. Asa's ancestors become harder to pin down but it is possible, repeat possible, that he was a descendant of the Austin Kelham line from New England. Email me some more details and I will check them out with my file when I have more time. Ron Kellems
Hi. Thought I'd do a quick intro. of myself. My name is Juli and I'm a 13th american generation Kimball/Kimble. I'm interested in those Killams who married Kimball/Kimble's. ***Eliza Killam married Newcomb Kimble in 1842 (Albion, Calhoun Co., MI) ***John Killam married Elizabeth Kimble (who was born 3/8/1785) ***Ephraim Kimble (born 4/1/1808) married Lucy C. Killam - one son, Ephraim, Jr. ***Moses Killam (b. 10/2/1783, d. 10/2/1861) married Lucy Kimble of Paupack, PA. Also, I *hate* to ask this, but I've misplaced my information ... how do I subscribe to this list in digest mode. I'll be visiting my family for 2 wks in MI to do more geneaological research and don't want to use large volumes of web space. Thank you for your help. Kate kindly sent me this to correct the errors in the posting I sent out earlier. The separation of facts were done by me for ease in dissembling. Lots of goodies in the following, re: source material to check out for those of you doing these lines. many thanks, Kate! Sheila: You have this Samuel hooked up wrong. He is my GG Grandfather. I got to looking over all the data you put out just about the time of all the reunions after I got home. I Have pictures of his & Ann's along with son Nathan & Rachel & Alma Kellum grave sites (Salem, IA (Salem Friends Cemetery North Side). Have Land description papers from Lee Co. Iowa. Have Heiss Quaker Records, Have Seen Records at Earlham College in Indiana.of Iowa records...(I think I did photo copy those too. There is a history of this Samuel Kellum[ b. 21 Sep 1794 in Rowan Co. NC. He died in Dec 1848 at his home in Lee Co. Iowa. He was a Hatter.by trade .He assisted his brother-in-law with free trade and the underground railroad. as. I started to say there is a history of this family and cousins pioneering into what was Blackhawk Territory in 1838. (the year he sold the land in Ohio) and others in about the 1905-09 Western Works of the Friends Church. (His daughter-in-law Rachel Maxwell Kellum wrote them up) She was a minister in the Salem, Iowa group, and at Iowa Yearly Meeting. Have land notations from Western Ohio. They came with township # instead of township names, so have to check that out. Have Bible pages copy with copy right page etc. of Noah Kellum & Esther Hiatt --- This Noah is Samuel's Father. & Mother. Family Histories that are part of the Plainfield Public Library and Historical Society in Danville Indiana further document this. There is another Samuel Kellum b. ca 1737, and d. Sussex County Delaware 11 Aug 1786. that was the Father of Noah. He married Mary Ward He owned a plantation according to Noah's notes, and he also marred Prudence Vaughn. Noah and Esther pioneered the Fairfield Friends Church along with the Jessups in 1821. (This documented with written Church History...There has always been a Kellum a member since then). They first were in what is part of Wayne Co. Indiana just north of Richmond and east of the Coffin lands in the Fountain City area (now on Route #27) The Kellum land would have been on what is now route #227. I have found errors in George Hiatt's History. Regarding the Kellum Births and lines. In one case he has a female linked up as a male. Gross error ---! If you wish to post to the list that is fine with me. Yours in Family Projects :) Kate Kellum Billett// snooks1@frontiernet.net

I am looking for Hinch Kellems who died sometime between 1865 / 1870 in Perry or Dubois County Indiana. He married Rebecca Aders. This was a second marriage for both of them. The 1900-1910 and 1920 cunsus is online for Dubois Co In and there are a lot of Kellems in Jefferson Twp. June
I found the following notes but unsure of where I obtained the information: Pleasant KELLAMS b. abt 1828 in Dubois Co., IN and Mary CONLEY b. abt. 1832 in Dubois Co., IN had son - Alfred KELLAMS b. 12/24/1854. I don't know if this is the same Alfred. Just thought I'd share it. Sorry about that! Susannah Kellum was born 3/22/1799, probably in VA. and she died 7/22/1848 in AL. She married William Perrin born abt. 1722 in Charlotte County, VA. He died abt. 1811 in Abbeville Co., S.C. They had four children. Catherine Weatt Perrin born 1/18/1805, Mary Perrin born 1015/1806, George Gwynn Perrin born 11/12/1807 and Margaret Caroline Perrin born 12/24/1809. That is all I have on them. Hope this helps! Looking for info on: Alfred H Kellem/Killum Ind or Ky who married Sarah Jenkins Ind or Ky possibly in Southern Indiana (Warrick/Vanderburgh/Gibson/Pike Co) or Western Ky (Muhlenberg/Butler/Ohio Co) Their daughter listed as both ANNA & FANNIE KELLEM/KILLUM born abt 1859 Indiana married m.March 22 1883 Warrick Co Indiana Lycurgus Kinkade b.Oct 10 1857 Butler Co Ky Lycurgus appears in Evansville Ind directories 1888-1900. It appears that they left the Evansville/Vanderburgh County Indiana after 1900 possibly to Ripley County Missouri, His realtives began to travel west after 1900 to Missouri some settling in Ripley Co others in St Louis.. If Alfred and wife Sarah Kellem traveled west to Missouri this too would be after 1900 as well..
