    3. Alexander - I do not see that name in my notes. I may have run across it in a web search some where, but since the dates are wrong for my James, I don't have a record of it. 2. Woody Kellum
    3. I'm looking for anything on a Branden Kellam/um and a full or half brother of his name Jackson (last name unk., but suspect Kellam). I believe they would have been born in Virginia around 1815 +/- 15yrs. Their father was James and they had a half brother Lewis Kellum. We have a letter dated 1893 from my grandfather to his uncle Branden trying to make contact with an uncle he had never met. It was returned undeliverable because Branden had moved on. Thanks. - Woody Kellum

    1. [KELLAM] Update on Kellam Book---an FYI
    2. Some on the list either have ordered, or wrote intentions, here is this update. This does carry the line of William of Preble down to current living desc. ********************** Kellam Book Update New information has been sent me--quite a bit. A gift of both 1880 and 1900 NY and PA census soundex rolls, has occurred, these will supply some missing pieces (or add new puzzles). Information from varying kin of this generation has yet to come in-----one of the cousins mentioned in the packet received yesterday--"procrastination--and time got away." Happens-- been there, wore out that T-shirt myself. :-) My printer got bogged down in the Holiday rush with one machine down, pushing everyone back. End result: My new date with the printer is 26 January, with a 2 week turn around . (the photos are coming along nicely--they'll be ready in advance for the limited edition). Books mailed directly after I pick them up. (padded envelopes addressed/stamped ready to "go." as orders come in) Cut off date for this Vol. I is 15 January 2001. If your updated/new info hasn't hit my desk by then, sorry---Vol. II will carry add ons, corrections. If this date isn't satisfactory, please let me know, I'll refund your check. It has been so GREAT to be in touch with new cousins, lost cousins, play catch up. The enthusiasm and support have meant a LOT. My at home and away from home kids said, "We have enough in this state alone to have a mini reunion! Between Kellam, Hopkins/Noble descendants, we sure do. Even turned up an Elijah George Desc. on the NC Beach area, who shared her entire line and work. (One more hurricane, she may head back to PA.) If you have anything to add to your last communique, found someone who "belongs," ----figured Dec. was too late--nope - reprieve all the way around. Good thing I've developed patience in the past 20 years----my first dealings with printers was a life lesson. :-) Everyone wants to do a manuscript from a disk--I want the printed and proofed, on paper, version run. Then I KNOW the index and the pages match, the photos go where planned. Supposedly. Maybe. Weeeeeeellllllllllll -- (best laid, and all that) To those I may not be in touch with until 2001, Happy Holidays, stay safe, together with those who mean the most to you. Sheila---Firehair Box #99 Bunn, NC 27508 Firehair2@aol.com 919-496-1604 "Families of Southern Tier New York - NE Pennsylvania" Adams, Hopkins, Jenson, Kellam, Lord, Parsons, Tyler, others. 400 plus pages, full index, photos, $40 incl. mailing "What you accept, you teach"

    1. Re: [KELLAM] Killam, J. P.
    2. Looks like a typo in the spelling: Killnm? I hope it's not Joseph - b. Iowa about 1847, parents died 1862 & 1867, migrated to Richmond,MO and to Oregon, never heard from since.

    2. Hello Leean, I would like very much to see what you have as have just begun going back on this line and have only verified to Moses A. b. 1845 in Ohio, so if you would be so kind, please send me what you have and I will do same for you in future if my line is helpful for you. Barbara

    2. Hi Sheila, Read your post, nice to see you are in my line and also that you have it about completed as you said, would love to see what you have as I have been focusing for months on finding my grandmother Elizabeth Rachel Kellum b. 1872 in IL, and recently figured out she is daughter of Moses A. and Samantha J., she is said to have moved to Mason City, IA after her husband died in 1924, so that is where I am hunting. Now I am motivated to look into the ancestors and learn where they all came from in their "old country". I have been working more on a grandmother and grandfather from Sweden and Norway past few months but always some of Elizabeth but not getting far, so thanks so very much. Please do let me know what you have and hopefully I can help you someday Your life sounds quite full since Thanksgiving so hope things ease up soon but with the holidays that is not likely to happen! Barbara Irvine, CA.

    2. I would certainly like to have the info you offered on this branch of the Zadock line. I am looking for a Phineas Killam that I suspect is one of Zadock' s descendants. Zadock had both a brother and a son named Phineas. The Phineas I want to identify owned land in both the Ten Mile Creek area of SW Pa and the Dunkard Creek area of Monongalia Co, in what is now WV. He died ca 1805. My email add. to use is rkellems@columbus.rr.com and for snail mail is R. D. Kellems 2216 Fernleaf Lane Columbus, OH 43235 I will be more than glad to pay copy and mailing costs involved and look forward to receiving the file. RDK

    2. Hi again, Got your changes and thanks again, are you in the same line? I called the Iowa Falls Historical Society, know one of the ladies there from my visit there last June (Iive in CA.) , she will see what she has in the history books of the area, any pictures, etc., she went to school with my aunt and uncle although I was raised in northern Minnesota so did not know Iowa Falls/Steamboat Rock area. She said only living Kellum was a David Kellum living in area but he was not in any phone listings and she did not know him had heard her sister mention the name so will keep hunting for him also. Write more later. Barbara

    3. Robin: Calvin D. Kellams was b 14 Feb 1844, prob Lawrence Co, IL, s/o Otho Kellams and Eliza Jane Douglas. Calvin married Margaret J. Sanders 14 Dec 1865 in Sangamon Co, IL. They had at least eleven children. Calvin's place and date of death are not known by me, but probably occurred in Sangamon Co where at least one of his daus was living in later years. 2. for any one that is interested, I have a different line of this same family. It splits off at Zadock Killam going down the line of Silas Killam who is a brother of Moses Sr. This was prepared by a "cousin" of mine & i got it through my mother, who was a Kellam. I have not verified any of it yet, but you are welcome to it. Leeann

    1. [KELLAM] William of Preble
    2. Records of Daniel Dimmick Kellam, and records of PA families state William was son of Moses Jr. is there a will for Elijah in Preble co. listing his children? As always,s there oculd have been 2 William's. siiiiigh William's records do state he was b. in PA. the 1850 census, also. I did a lot of work in Preble, due to my former husband's families being from there, he had kin, distant, I visited, etc., got invovled in saving a cemetery. Wish I'd saved all the Kellam records. Note on Elijah - he married Sarah Parker on 23 May 1816, Preble Co., Ohio. (marriage record on file there) Certainly, the dates work. However. 1. Re: [KELLAM] Elijah Kellam - GA>OH
    2. Guys, I have this line fairly complete, with surces. William of somers Twnp in Preble is from Pennsylvania, Wayne co. I was gong to post this supposition: I have long felt the Elijah 1794 of GA is the same Elijah 1794 who disappears out of Wayne Co., Pennsylvania. especially as he appears to show up much later in Preble. And, I think the Asa of KY is part of this grp, supports the theory that Asa belongs to the Zadock line. Look at a map. I'll try to post some of this later, right now, I'm battling no car due to hitting deer on Thanksgiving, company coming and Chirstmas faster than ever. Sheila// Firehair
