Good morning everyone! I am trying to recover from a week of vacation. After close to 30 years of marriage and promises to 3 kids for the last 15 years, we finally made it to Paris & London. A few days in each place just isn't long enough (but I am thankful we got to go!). We had such a good time and plan to go again. I told my kids that we had fullfilled our promise & the next trip was their ticket! Now back to reality! As of this a.m. there are 34 members on the Digest Mode and 93 members on the List Mode. Wouldn't it be great to hear from each Kellam/um researcher on the list about the line they are researching and where they are hitting their "brick wall"! I am stuck on "my" Amander Kellam (unusual name for a man) who was born Feb 1807 in VT, died 12 Jul 1866 Rosamond, Christian Co., IL. They had a farm right on the border of Christian Co and Montgomery Co IL. His wife was Jerusha born in 1805 in CT. I am looking for a marriage record, parent's to both of them - anything! Faith United Church/United Church of Christ (Congregational) & Presbyterian Church Oswego, Oswego, NY #124 Mrs. Jerusha Killam Date of Admission 1 Jan 1830 Received by letter from Augusta NY Dismissed by Letter to Camden NY 11 Oct 1830 (Augusta and Camden are in Oneida Co NY) Children: 1. Thanks, will let you know when it arrives. Karen

I checked my list--I kept xerox copies of all checks in the original envelopes, so I didn't drop someone, have nothing from you at all. if you are going to order, please confirm, I can change the number being run as late as Wednesday at 9 a.m. by as many as one dozen, which begins to look as tho I should. Check to me: Sheila Stover Box # 99 Bunn, NC 27508 919-496-1604 Yes, I beleive your cousin ordered a book when I offered it pre-pub a few months back. (Additions, corrections will be in Vol II)
Sheila, I believe I ordered a book. If not I would like to. My address: Karen Stanton 168 W Parker St. Scranton, Pa. 18508 My e-mail address is Edwinruby1@aol.com I was talking to my cousin today. I believe she has been in contact with you. Her name is Leann Cullum. We were at the Old Paupack Cemetery today. Believe she also has information to send you. Please let me know how much the book is going to be and the payment arrangement. Thank you, Karen
Monday - An email to take care of a couple items. Was in to Raleigh by 8:30 this morning--no mean feat, having had to drop the 2 boys at college--directly North!! The "run" is going well. I'm happy I changed printers/publishers--these folks have taken a lot longer, but, I've been able to proof//make minor changes as we went along. Only one glitch, and Kevin just called, am going back in this afternoon---then ---clear sailing. Considering the size---408 sheets plus cover (which is very attractive)---one "drop" isn't bad, especially seeing it had nothing to do with lines and folks. The pictures came out super, Couldn't believe my eyes. Only ones didn't fare well were the internet print outs, either didn't come up at all-(had to pull them) --or a bit dark. Mailing begins Thursday, book rate, which will take 4 to 6 days, so says the P.O. Are you going to be away? Does anyone want me to hold theirs til they return? For the ones who have ordered multiples, do you want them all sent to you, or do you want them shipped individually? Just let me know, it's no problem. Sheila // Firehair Box # 99 Bunn, Nc 27508 919-496-1604 ***************************************************** Kellam, (several lines, LI, PA, NY-- this section takes about 300 pages) Adams, Hopkins, Parsons, Lord, Jenson, Mitchell, Zurn, Park(e) (s). 816 pages, spiral bound, indexed, contains large amounts of text, includes abt 72 pages (8 1/2 by 11 ) photographs, maps, clippings (abt 72 pages (8 1/2 by 11 ) Order from the author directly. Several orders came in after mid May, a second run will be done mid to late Aug. 2001 , when I have the minimum amount of copies which willhold the price. price, including mailing, is $60.
Hi. all, Making salads here, pine bark mulched my newly put in rose garden of sorts-- am waiting for the pick up call from Raleigh.-which I had expected sooner--but, they don't work weekends, nor today, I learned. O.K. I can deal with that. I changed copmpanies at the last minute, and dealt with a compnay who does all work in house, with whom I could talk one on one, and the manuscript would NOT leave the premises--it says so in writing. (I got thinking about all the photos, some of which cannot be replaced-- panicked.)------- they had said they'd print with the original dummy sheets of photos, for better results---I didn't have to use my copy made on my xerox work center here at home--digital, good, but, nothing beats the original? 741 pages, plus 69 added in of photos, maps, articles, etc. --according to the "count". Carried it in a huge tupperware square keeper---they asked, "did you bake us cookies" next time, maybe. Now have time to do some neglected chores for a bit--like my garden, which was looking SAD. Have a great, and fun, safe, day. Sheila // Firehair

If the name is wrong or the spelling please contact us again and we see what we can do for you. Sincerely Victoria Leslie ============================================================= Dear Brenda, First of all I did not doubt your email, but thought if I could get some info him it might place him or connect him to my Kellums. My 4th ggf was Henry Kellum (traced bck to Chatham & Wake Co's in NC) he had, I am sure, a brother named Smith Kellum, married in Accormack Co VA. who later moved into Chatham and into TN into Davidson co. TN. Henry & wife, Martha Callhoun Kellum moved from NC into D avidson Co, TN. He was injured, by a bear, and died in Dec of 1799. One of Henry's dau's was Sarah Bell Kellum, my 3rd ggm. She married John Douglass & their dau Mary Douglass married Jared Martin, my 2nd ggp's Their son James Allen my 1st ggf.his son Frank Douglass Martin my gf, my mother Marcile Meredith Martin m H.D. Compton, my father. I latch onto any Kellum I find. Often find name in same family as Kellam, um, im according to whichever person wrote it. Many of our ancestors were not too well educated and often signed with mark. Did you perhaps have wrong spelling ? Tho lady above did not mention any Kellum. I don't want to be a party pooper, but where did you get your info. I saw your email in Kellum newsletter/messages. I am on mailing list. I do know that young Smith Kellum came to Ark.Terr. in 1819 with his sister, Sarah Bell & family & other relatives ......... some 15 in all to settle in/near Little Rock, Pulaski Co area. He married Jane Pyeatt in 1822. Both died, fairly young, in 1837 & 38. leaving 8 children, 15-2 yrs old. They were parceled out among other relatives. Dau Emily lived with my gggf Jared Martin, on 1850 census. A number of them moved, in later yrs, to Texas, near San Marcos and Decatur. Co's. That is why your email intrigued me. Sincerely, Meredith Gibson

"Families of Southern Tier New York, North Eastern Pennsylvania, Some Indian Connections" VOL. I ADAMS, HOPKINS,KELLAM, JENSON, LORD,PARSONS got put to bed at 3 a.m. this morning. It ended up some 1200 pages, as I included many marryng in famiies, however sparse, so: divided it into 2 , thus, VOL. II is half done. The finished product, with photos, is still bigger than originally planned, however, hopefully everyone will enjoy. Have edited //proofed til I'm blind---FTM doesn't do well with text, capitol letters at the beginning of a sentence. That kind of thing. Drove me crazy. I sat with the kids in front of the TV watching a movie they rented--"Meeting the Parents"--to take a break--they brought the scales in from the bathroom, ----I was leafing thru all the stacks of papers to see if anything major had been overlooked-- a photo misplaced, whatever. 33 lbs of 8 1/2 by 11 sheets/notes, pages-- And that doesn't count the books, and already put away files. Off to Raleigh late tomorrow, or before 9 Tuesday--- MAX 10 day turn around.(they say--it gets sent to their "hub" out of town--by truck, not the good old US Mail-- only thing I'll be able to change then is the number ordered. (yes, I have two copies of the manuscript---one for them, one for me) With ic pages, well above 600 pgs--Kellam being the major portion. Thank you for your patience, the fact this is 6 months overdo. BUT, I got new info right up thru this past week---and wanna bet??? A major break thru will happen on Thursday. LOLOL Go to print, and the mail box fills up. Been there, done that one. Sheila // Firehair, coffee cup in hand.---checking page numbers to be sure they run consecutively as advertised, and randomly checking index against same.

Ron, I am sorry to say I do not have the sources of the information I gave you. The original line was given to me by my mothers aunt and she had no references on it. I hope to get to Paupack, Pike Co. Pa later this summer to get more information. I would be glad to pass along hard evedence of the dates if I can find them. Karen
Please be aware that what I am including in this reply is from memory only... I do not currently have my files available for referrence... and therefore this must be considered as " my memory" and not proven fact. Having the above understanding, the Phineas who married Thankfull Hill had a younger brother named Zadock. This Zadock had a son named Phineas ( undoubtedly named for his Uncle) and it is this s/o Zadock that I THINK, repeat THINK, is the man I mentioned as owning land in SW PA and what is now WV.I should note that Zadock is known to have gone to eastern Pa later in his life. The reasons for this include the lack of any documentation that the Phineas that died 24 Feb 1793 in Pawlet, VT was ever in either PA or WV. Also, the land inWV was was left to "Asa Killam of Hardin Co, KY as heir at law" of the Phineas that owned the land... there is no record of the VT Phineas having a son named Asa.... or any other son that went to KY. There are other details that to me make very unlikely, if not impossible for the Phineas of VT/CT to be the Phineas Killam that was in SW PA in the late 1700s. I know this may be confusing to many but the essence is I need verification that the son Phineas, of Zadock, was indeed in SW PA as I described ... and that he had a son named Asa that went to KY who was the patriarch of a large line of descendants ( Kellam, Kellams, Kellum, Kelm,Kellems, etc,etc....) who spread to southern IN,MO,OR, CA, AR, IL etc. I welcome all ideas, suggestions, theories and and facts that will resolve this long term brick wall for so many who are searching this line.
