The date has been firmed up for the 300th Anniversary celebration of our founding father. Sat, and Sun., Oct 6 & 7, 2007 is the weekend we have planned in Oley, PA. We have some ideas including a dinner dance at the Reading Liederkranz the evening of the 6th. Events will be held during the day at the Jacob Keim Homestead which will include food and hands on events. As planning gets further along I will give you more info, but don't want to get you too excited at this point in case things fall thru. We want to do some fundraising for upkeep on the Homestead and are in need of monetary donations in order to be able to order items to be made up to sell to the general public. If anyone is willing to donate, please contact me and I will let you know where to send your check. When we start to get donations we will be opening a tax free checking account with the name of the event. There will be a lot of expenses involved in this undertaking, so we must be prepared. We also are looking for a name for our event! And we need your ideas, so here is your chance to really help. This is what we came up with so far. I know there are better ideas out there. "Johannes Keim Heritage Weekend, Johannes Keim 300th Anniversary Celebration, 300th Anniversary of Johannes Keim, Founder Johannes Keim Day". We have started a Yahoo! Group to coordinate this exciting event. This group will be home to many discussions on the planning activities associated with the event. We are looking for people to help, as there will be many tasks over the next 12 months. Understanding that many of the family are located across the country, we hope this site will help to you to get involved anyway.
