The site of the old grist mill on the North Branch of the Skippack Creek is in Montgomery County. I'm pretty sure it was in what is now Lower Salford Township. Wilma
Hmmm... wonder if this was the same Stephen Keim that owned land in Limerick Twp (Montgomery County)... the Stephen that inherited Johannes' turning tools and moved to Bristol, along the Delaware river, north of Philadelphia. Seems like it COULD BE! --- "Wilma E. Conway" <[email protected]> wrote: > > The site of the old grist mill on the North Branch of the Skippack > Creek > is in Montgomery County. Using the USGS National Mapping Information web site, I located Skippack Creek; it runs through Evansburg State Park. There's even a Skippack Creek Road running NE of Evansburg, along the northern side of the Creek. It looks like the Creek splits into two branches just east of the borough of Skippack. One branch is labelled the West Branch... following the other branch, it does meander through what is now Lower Salford Township. It runs near Schwenkfelder Church and Cemetery, then near Elroy. Gets hard to follow after that so I checked my Streets % Trips CD. On the CD, it looks like the Creek's headwaters are in the Borough of Souderton, PA, near the Hillside Cemetery. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The point of the above description is to list some places in Montgomery Co, PA. NOW, does anyone recognise any of these places as locations where KEIMs (sic) lived??? USGS National Mapping Information query form http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnispublic --- "Wilma E. Do you think this is the same Stephen? That web site listed it as a saw mill. http://www.umstead.org/john%20nc.html --- "Wilma E.
