The 1840 Nicholas Co, KY census lists: Elizabeth Kimes, age 60-70 female, age 20-30 female, age 15-20 Any thoughts on WHO this Elizabeth was???? I'm wondering if she wasn't the wife of Jacob Kimes who died in the 1830s. This record lists a wife "Betsey" as survivor: Jacob Kimes, Sr., of Nicholas Co, Kentucky. November 26, 1839. Granddaughter, Elizabeth Kimes; heirs of son, Henry Kimes, $5.00; wife Betsey, residue "to the rest of my children"; son, Jacob; Robert West, executor. Test, David Wilson and Robert West.
