As a follow up to my last e-mail, it might be of use to list the "census day" for the various census years. This is the day that was the official day to report who was living in a residence. The "enumeration day" was the day that the census taker showed up at the door. Knowing the census day for the various years some times helps determine a time frame for birthdays, and other useful stuff. 1790 - August 2 1800 - August 4 1810 - August 6 1820 - August 7 1830 - 1900 - June 1 1910 - April 15 1920 - January 1 These are from an article by William Dollarhide that appeared in the Jul/Aug 1998 issue of HERITAGE QUEST.
