Our branch is still looking for one particular William Kimes. This William was born to Daniel Kimes and Mary Leighty who m. 17 January 1851 in Kosciusko Co, IN. In 1856, Daniel is living in Johnson Co, IA, a widower, living without his young son. I've searched census indices but find no trace of a William, b. 1850-1856. Did the LEIGHTY family care for William after Mary died? Or was William erroneously listed as a LEIGHTY on census records? Has anyone "seen" a William Kimes that they can't place?
