How would that work? Can you tell more? or where one could read more about this? --- brenda lee <[email protected]> wrote: > > I have found out that some of the Keim family changed their names > after > jumping ship in order not to pay their full passage when coming to > America > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? as was done with the Garver line I am in. When they boarded ship they paid half their fair. When they arrived in America their relatives were supposed to pay the rest of the fee. So when they got close to shore they would jump ship and swim to a remote part of the U>S> so no one would know they had jumped ship and change their name like from Garverick to Garver, Garvin or even Carver. that way the fee would not have to be paid and the rest of the crew would say that he had drowned in one of the storms they went through because head counts were not necessarily taken every day. >From: Cindy Kimes <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [KEIM] Re: spellings of Kime >Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2005 04:37:35 -0700 (PDT) > >How would that work?
