My Maternal line goes back to a Lillie Daisy Keim (9/13/1875 near Bethlehem, Northampton Co.,PA-11/23/1948 Easton,NCo.,PA) who m. Herbert Elmer Gradwohl (4/14/1878 Easton,NCo.,PA-7/4/1958 Easton,NCo.,PA). Until this past summer this was all we knew of "Grandma Lillie". Thanks to the folks at the Northampton Co.PA site who posted the 1890 census, we found Lillie D. 14, in Bethlehem Twp. living with Owen M. 42, Catherine 33, Harry F. 11, Lulu M. 9, Birdie C.8, Floyd E. 7, Walter C.6, Elsie M. 5, and Mabel B.3. This prompted a recollection that ,yes, those were Lillie's family members names. Near Owen M. and Catherine lived Alfred L. Keim 38, Emma 32, and Flora 10. My working hunch is that they are related. The other night, weary of sorting Henderson and McClintock notes (Paternal line), I took a break to "cruise the internet". At www.bapl.org/ there is an index for obits of the Bethlehem Globe- Times newspaper. Viola(as my Grandmother used to say)! There is an obit for Owen Milton Keim on 4/9/1914 at pg11,col3 and on 4/14/1914 at pg3,col3 ( I am ordering copies of the actual obit, this is an online index). Lillie D. and Herbert E. lived at 136 McCartney in Easton, and named their children: 1)Carlton Keim (no one talks about him, he apparently commited suicide as a young man), 2) Elmer Adam (1901-1980), 3) Kathryn Priscilla (1903-1985), 4) Lillian May (1914-1994), and 5) William Herbert (living). After the "Owen obits" arrive I will "make time" to search the 1880 census. Any other suggestions on where to look? Any "cousins" willing to acknowledge this branch?
