Jacob, son of Heinrich, was baptized 21 May 1775, Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, MD. A second baptismal record for a Jacob Kimes is dated 21 May 1776, Federalsville, MD. Seems like this must be the same Jacob, but which date is correct? Also, JACOB KIMES, son of Heinrich, is said to have been living in Rockbridge Co, VA in July 1793. Your theory on the identity of "Old" Jacob sounds plausible, but the "Elias" name bothers me. I've not seen the name Elias used in Heinrich's line; only in Valentine Keim's line, and this is the Valentine of Maidencreek Twp, not Valentine, son of Heinrich! But, lack of the name Elias may not mean anything! So this is just more food for thought!
