Back in Oct 1998 Michael Anthony wrote about Jacob Kimes and Jane Dewey: "George Washington Kimes was born abt 1821 in Chester Township, Meigs County, Ohio and died 23 Jul. 1897 near Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois. He married Emily Williamson 23 Sept. 1839 in Meigs County, Ohio. Emily, the daughter of Samuel Williamson and Sydney Reger, was born in Hardesty, Meigs County, Ohio and died 04 Apr. 1911. A theory is he was the son of Jacob Kimes and Jane Dewey. Jacob and Jane settled in Belleville, Wood, West Virginia." At that time, no more was known on that Jacob. Does anyone know more now? Don and I are looking at ALL the Jacobs that lived in this area of the U.S. in the early 1800's. Thanks for your help!
Was the Margaret in the pitchfork story, wife of Jacob Kime, the same as Jane Dewey, spouse of Jacob Kimes? i.e. Margaret Jane Dewey????
