    3. Thanks for the information on Costner or Cortner. However, based on information in the Guilford County Historical Map prepared by Fred Hughes this property does not appear to be in Kimeville. The land purchased by George Cortner in 1770 from Thomas Low was actually in Low's Town. Low had purchased property from McCulloh on "The Trading Path" in Orange County in 1760 before Guilford County was formed. In 1769 he recorded a plot for a town on this tract. In 1770 Low sold at least 17 lots from this town, 3/4 acres each. George Cortner purchased 3 of these lots or 2.25 ac. Kimesville is about 15,000 feet to the South South East. -----Original Message----- From: Paul B. George CORTNER or CARTNER is usually styled "of Guilford." ----- Original Message ----- From: Harold Davey <hdavey@home.com> To: <BrickChurchNC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2001 12:42 PM Subject: Kime & Reitzel acreage > Bill, > > Here is what I have for the location of Phillip Kime's land: > > "Phillip bought 50 A. on Stinking Quarter, a creek that runs through > the SE corner of Guilford Co, more or less parallel to NC 62, and then > on into Almanace where it eventually runs into the Haw River, a little > south of Graham." > > Could you provided the text of the court documents and citation for > Phllip's and Adam Reitzel's land? > > Harold > > >>>>>>>>>>>>>> > Bill wrote: > > I like the fit of the Kime and Reitzel acreage, as well as the Lake > Kimeville, in > the Hughes map to the current mapping information.
