Several months ago I ran across several KIMESes that married in Adair Co, IA. The given names of these folks were especially interesting..... one of the ancestors from Kosciusko Co, IN had children by these names. In an attempt to follow up on this, I requested some lookups from the Adair Co. genealogical society. Following is part of what was rec'd yesterday: >From the Washington Twp, Adair Co, IA 1870 census: dwelling # 63 KIMES, Uriah 50 Farmer Penn Nancy 48 Keeping House Ohio Uriah Jr. 14 at home Iowa Nathaniel 14 at home Iowa Charles 8 at home Iowa dwelling # 64 KIMES, A?dley 25 work on farm Ohio Marriott 18 Keeping House Ill These folks connect to this family: 1 Uriah Kimes b: 1820 PA .. +Nancy Cross b: 1822 OH m: 1840 Mercer Co, OH ... 2 Joseph Kimes b: 1841 OH d: 04 September 1855 ... 2 Andrew Kimes b: 1844 OH ....... +Marietta // b: 1852 IL ... 2 Mary Kimes b: 1846 IA ... 2 Uriah Kimes, Jr. b: 1856 IA ... 2 Nathaniel Kimes b: 1856 IA and we can add Charles, b. 1862 IA Andrew and Marietta above would seem to be the couple living in dwelling # 64.
