We got one rubbing of George Keims headstone which came out fairly well. The one for his wife Susanna (yes it is Susanna after all) didnt come out as well and we are going to do it again over the weekend. A rough translation of the George Keim stone is: Here under lies Georg Keim he was born on 10 April 1776 and married with Susanna Mensch in the year of Christ 1805 and died on 11 July 1859 having reached an age of 83 years, 3 months and one day For Susanna it is a bit tougher as her stone is not as deeply carved and has not weathered as well: Here under lies Susanna Keim Born Mensch Born 10 April 1780 Married with George Keim 54 years ????????? 10 Children 9 ????????? ??????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????? Died 24 August 1865 at an age of 85 years, 4 months, 14 days The three lines essentially missing are very difficult to determine due to wear and the German script, but it is our first guess that it might read something like: to one another they had 10 children 9 surviving another to live with God ???4 ????????????
