I have been working on a project in which some of you may have an interest. Plats of Deeds and Grants to Philip Kime and Adam Reitzel support a conclusion that Philip and his stepson built a dam and gristmill at what is now the location of Kimeville Lake and dam in Guilford County. This was an obvious assumption from the name of the place however the fact that the property they acquired encompassed the land inundated by the lake formed by the dam and surrounding acreage is the first documented support I have seen for that assumption.
