    1. Re: [KEIM] Re: Bertha Kimes, Family
    2. Good afternoon cousins Richard & Maxine, It's nice to meet & hear from yet more family members. This line of my family has been an utter amazement to me. For many researching years, I was dead-walled at my great-grandparents (Jacob & Sarah). Ever so slowly I pieced tiny bits of info together & traced that far. Then suddenly the world opened up & I was literally handed so much info on the farther back Kimes line that I'm still sorting & matching. I guess the time was just right finally. I have recently heard from Don Kimes. Both he & you have already solved 2 pieces in my unsolved mystery file. For more years than I can remember, I have been in possession of 4 old snapshot photos of people, all of whom had the surname Kimes but who were unknown to me. Don identified one photo as his parents & another apparently is of your wife's father John - taken in 1939, he's in farmlike coveralls sitting on a chair outside & playing a guitar. So by logical deduction, I must assume that the other 2 are also photos of Grandma's siblings. I believe they are Bruce & Clara. It still seems odd, yet wonderful, that I've had photos of aunts & uncles all these years & now I'm hearing from their children. As I'm contacted by long-separated relatives, I'm trying to get as much information & documentation on their specific families as they'll share with me. Don provided me with documentation of Grandma B's siblings (names, birth & death dates) & we're still exchanging info as I can handle & assimilate it. If you're willing, what I'd like to request from you is more specifics on you two, plus your children, their spouses, your grandchildren, greats if any & on down to the present - names, dates, places, the usual facts. Any documentation or spare pictures are always gratefully accepted & added to my myriad of notebooks - which I recently had to split up into smaller groupings when they exceeded their capacity. I now have 9 notebooks covering both paternal & maternal sides & love it when I require yet another. Since John Abraham is Maxine's father, any info she can share on him & his wife (her mother), her siblings, etc is also sought from you. The only info I have at present on John is his name, birth & death dates, the one picture & a note in my files that his wife's name may have been Irene(?). Eventually my genealogy records will most likely be passed down to my eldest granddaughter (now only 14 yrs old) who has shown interest in her family's history. Consequently, I'd like to give her a heck of a start with records as complete as I can accumulate. By the way, some of the records online of our more recent family contain typos & errors, not to mention the ever-growing & changing. Example: one of my granddaughters' names is shown as "Tristen" when it actually is "Trista." I also have a 1-yr-old granddaughter who does not yet appear anywhere online. I am happy to share any of our info that you may need, including copies of my voluminous documentation - which includes everything from birth & death certificates to newspaper clippings & of course photos. I thank you for taking the time to contact me & am looking forward to hearing from you again as we share & spread family info. Sherry PS - I'm located in Loveland Colorado. Where are you?
