Bill, In Hardesty, Meigs Co.Ohio, Abraham is listed as settling there in 1811. My research in Bath Co.Va. seems to confirm this or 1812. There is also an article about this "Old" Jacob and fighting Indians, titled "An Incident in Pioneer Life". In it is mentioned the Indian Wars. When I ask the timing on these wars, (of course every one is vague) but 1810-1820 seems to be the time frame. I realize this is just a wild guess. It does call Jacob an early settler. I have printed copies of these in my computer, if you want I can Email them to you. Jacob paid taxes in 1810 in Athens Co.. I am told Meigs Co used to be a part of Athens Co. I don't have copies of the 1810 census because my lineage (Abraham) was in Bath Co. Va. in 1810. I never found any obits or death records dating that far back. One place I didn't look, is for old rural churches with records going back that far. I think it would be unlikely but one never knows. If I can be of any help, feel free to ask. Don
