They were from Venango County [PA]. My Grampa's name was Daniel L. Kimes, Born Sept. 11th 1909. And passed away Dec. 13th, 1997 in Kane, Pa. I would like to find out the correct spellings of his parents names (their last names) and any information on their families! His Father's name was George L. Kimes-(Not sure of the correct spelling, Some changed the spelling). And Ida L. Golden-(or Gould, Gold- We're not sure of her exact last name). Thank you. He was born Sept 11, 1909 in Franklin, the son of George and Ida (Golden) Kimes. On November 22, 1948, in Marienville, he married Delilah Cowan, who survives." "He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Kimes; three brothers, Harry, Bill and Kenneth Kimes; seven sisters, Emma Patterson, Elvie DeWolfe, Mary Oakes, Bertha Mars, Maude Sayers, Clara Buchalz, Liz Brown; and a step-grandson, Chad Warring" He was survived by two sons and three daughters, some of whom live in Kane. ------------------------- Also to note: According to the S.S. Death Index, there's a SADIE KIMES who was living in Oil City, Venango Co, PA right before she died. She was born 13 Feb 1877 and died 15 Apr 1967. Might be worthwhile to try finding an obituary on her to see if she's related to the aforementioned KIMESes of that area.
