Here's information some of you may not have seen on the internet before...... titled "A Transcript of the Pension List of the United States for 1813" this is online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyharris/1812who.htm
After Jacob's father, Valentine, died in 1808, Jacob moved his family to Jefferson County Virginia (now W.Vir.) in 1809. Many then moved to Seneca Co. Ohio in 1825. In response to the request for Jacob Kiem info.......Jacob Keim born Maidencreek 4/10/1764 died 3/17/1855. Son of Valentine Keim and Mary DelPlank. Married Anna Marie Hahn.
In case you haven't been following the emails lately, we've been discussing the Jacob KIME/KIMES/KEIM/etc. of the early 1800's that were living in VA, OH, MD, and eastern PA. There were several Jacobs and since many of them used the same names for children, its next to impossible to sort these families! It might be of immense help for each subscriber with a Jacob born before 1800 would post data on their Jacob. It COULD eliminate a couple of those we're studying. Hope each of you will oblige. Thanks.

There are some folks that maintain their KEIM/KIME(S) ancestors came from Ireland sometime during the Revolutionary War. We've heard little on this from any of our subscribers. My question is: has anyone found anything to indicate this as fact? If so, would you please share what you've found? (Reason I'm asking is data shared with me a couple years ago included the names of supposed brothers George, Jacob, Peter, and Stephen!)
Some of the early KEIM generations were Quakers. Yesterday's Ancestry Daily News included an article on Quakers. Beside the usual reference, William Wade Hinshaw's "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy," other sources were offered. Those that don't subscribe to the "Daily News" may find this article at: http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/columns/tips/d_p_1_archive.asp Look for the title "Quaker Records for Genealogists"

Bought these post cards at the sight below. Just thought I would let anyone who is interested take a look. David Keim http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=498825565 Back of post cards read. KEIM'S KAMP, Western Pennsylvania's largest and most modern maple sugar camp. Located in the rolling hills of Somerset County, "The Roof Garden of Penna." One and one half miles west of Salisbury Penna., off U.S. Route 219. The camp, located at West Salisbury, Penna., is the home of hundreds of varieties of maple products. The building and sugar maple camp are the property of Mr. & Mrs. George Keim. Visitors are always welcome.
Hi, Don and All Who are you talking about as "Old" Jacob, who was his wife. I am lost. Gene Kimes
I would tend to believe the Kimes in Meigs Co.(1800+) are as follows. Using census, wills and ect. I am acceptably sure of: Abraham--born 1782 in VA. Abraham (JR.)-- born 1805 in VA. with Mary O'Hare (interesting side note: in the 1850 census he spelled his name Keim) With second wife Nancy, John--born 1814 in Ohio. Jacob--born 1817 in Ohio. Mary Ann-- born 1818 in Ohio (died young). "Old" Jacob in the 1820 Meig Co. census is more speculative, however I agree with Cindy's listing and would add the following. In the 1820 census there are nine males in his household. I think it is safe to accept that some of these males are the Kimes' that appear in later census. William in the 1820 census is Head of Household and between 15 and 20 years old, born in VA. Samuel in the 1860 census was 55 or born about 1805 in VA. Thomas in the 1850 census was 44 or born about 1806 in VA. John in the 1850 census was 41 or born about 1809 in Ohio. Elias in the 1850 census was 36 or born in about 1814 in Ohio. Henry in 1826 signed the document of a Religious Society, age unknown. I would think one had to be 21 to vote but a religious document may just require a "mature" adult. Earlier I had said Elias and Henry may have been William's sons but on further reflections they would be much to old to be William's sons. Until more information becomes available I can except these as "Old" Jacob's sons. If that is so, birth dates indicate Jacob moved to Meigs Co. between 1806 and 1809. This time line fits other information. Kimes' appearing in later census or elsewhere are more difficult because they could be his sons or grandsons. This includes the elusive George Washington Kimes. He could be Jacobs' (49 years old) son, but more likely a son of William's as he was a head of Household in 1820 and a son born in 1821 would seem to fit the time line. (Just a guess) The last mention I found of Jacob was in 1833. Where did Jacob's death date of 1850 come from? Don
Dear list, I'm sorry but I had posted the wrong township for Benneville and Catharine Kime in a previous e-mail, they were living at house # 77 in Maidencreek Twp., not Maxatawny Twp., in 1850 Berks Co. Pa Census. Chris Schultz
