    1. [KEIM] familiar surnames in Tuscarawas Co, OH
    2. Cindy
    3. Noted several familiar surnames from Nicholas KEIM's line (Nicholas b. 02 February 1768) in this passage found on the OHTUSCAR email list (Jul 1999): Zion's Evangelical Church was organized in 1856 by Rev. H. G. Holm, a Lutheran minister. Other churchs in this book are St. John's English Lutheran begun c. 1875; Methodist Episcopal 1880 and Church of the Brethren. The following is about the latter: "Previous to 1871, the members of the Brethren Church worshipped at various places, such as at a Mennonite Church north of Shanesville, among members of the congregation, and in the Union Church at the South end of Rowville." A church building was erected in 1871. "The following is a list of ministers that served the congregation: Jacob Domer, Conrad Kahler, Wm. Johnson, F. B. Weimer, J. K. L. Swinhart, Gabriel Neff, Michael H. Shutt, Samuel J. Burger, Peter Showalter, John Nicholson, George Long, Jacob Keim, John Neff, Peter Long, Josiah Hostetler, Edward Shepfer, Jacob Summers, Jacob Domer, Eli Steele, Jacob Snyder, Jacob Kaub, Eli Holmes, John Yoder, W. D. Fisher, Walter Keller, Martin Kriefer, Albert Krieger, Paul Achreiber, John McCormick and Frank McCune. Which Jacob Keim is this mentioned in connection with the Brethren Church?

    2. diane miller
    3. Yes, Cindy. I have been following the correspondence between you and Art regarding the Keims in the DJH. These are my relatives, as many of them are buried in the family plot in Lindenwood Cemetery, and I did not understand their relationships to the family. However, My great-grandfather, Daniel, was born7/30/1839 and died 4/29/1902, so Art's Daniel who died in 1896 may be someone else, or the date is incorrect. Also, my Daniel's son, William Daniel, had two more children besides Raymond, Donald and Ruth. They were Irene Louise b: 1912, died 1939 (married Harold Koppenhafer-no children) and my father Daniel William Henry b: 1914, died 1969 (married Emma Jane VanWey - 2 children, Stephanie Jane and Diane Elaine). Due to family responsibilities, I was just about to unsubscribe to the list when Art's information came up. I am so grateful.
