    1. [KEIM] Re: Will of Henry Kime of Bath Co., Virginia
    2. Dear Cindy: Shuffling through my mounds of correspondence on Henry Kime, I cannot find that particular letter from Katie Smith, Assistant Curator Bath County Historical Society, Inc. I did find a letter dated September 16, 2000 from Don Kimes of email windstone @pcis.net where he says: "As per Cindy's suggestion I posted Henry's will on http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/k/i/KIME/wills I also posted Henry's son abraham's will. Abraham's son Jacob Kimes and Jacob's wife Sarah(Hicks) Kimes' wills. Don" He sent me a typewritten copy of Henry's will. I also have a copy of Henry's will sent to me from Fred Eggleston back in 1984. They are all the same. I hope this takes care of things. Virginia Kimes Pierce VPierce851@aol.com

    2. Cindy
    3. We've read on this list that George Washington Kimes, b: 18 May 1829 IL, married Susan Carrell on 07 June 1849 in Washington Co, AR. Then it was reported they had a son, William C. Kimes, b: June 1850 in TX. There was a listing for a George W. Kimes who married Jane Pritchard in Hopkins Co, TX on 18 May 1853. Is this the same George that married Susan Carrell? And if so what happened to Susan?

    3. Info from online obit: > > (1) John W. KIME, b. Virginia 3-Apr-1840, d. 23-Jul-1917 LaGrange Co. IN. > Well established in my records. > Perhaps Lori knows the correct information on John Kime.... the info in the obit differs from other data we've read: Notes for JOHN W. KIME: JOHN W. KIME was born in Marion County, Ohio, April 24, 1845. His parents, Benjamin H. and Mary E. (Baughman) Kime, natives respectively of Virginia and Pennsylvania, came to this county in 1846, having traded land in Wood County, Ohio, for eighty acres of land in this township, where he built a double log house, and spent the remainder of his life. His death occurred May 13, 1863, and three days later he was followed to the grave by his faithful wife and companion. John W. Kime went to Iowa in 1855, returning to this county in 1862. He was married to Frances M. Donaphan, the 15th of March, 1864. She was born in March, 1846, in this county, and was one of twelve children in the family of John and Nancy Donaphan, of Ohio. She died August 29, 1873, having borne Mr. Kime five children, two of whom are living, Thomas J. and John W. He was married again in 1873, December 17, to Laura Donaphan, a native of this county, and she died June 26, 1879. They had three children, one now living, Frances M. 3. Don't know if this COULD be the William Keim you seek, but couple years back, Tamara and I were working on the KIMEs of Wayne Co, OH and discovered the names of the children of Jacob KIME who died before 1850. The children were: Catherine, Eliza Kime, Gabriel (who m. Jarutha Bensinger in Marion Co, OH), George Kime, and William Kime. All five children born bet. 1820 - 1830. Jacob was living in Congress Twp, Wayne Co, OH in 1830, so the children would have been born there, too! (Tamara, correct me if I'm "off" on any of this!) I've also found this family line which COULD be connected to your Mary Myers: Descendants of John Myers 1 John Myers b: of Carroll Co, MD d: 03 December 1866 Ashland, OH .. +Hannah Keim b: Carroll Co, MD m: 13 January 1817 Frederick Co, MD d: Ashland Co, OH ... 2 Eliza Myers ... 2 David Myers b: 05 November 1819 Carroll Co, MD d: 31 December 1891 Ashland, Ashland Co, OH ....... +Elizabeth Leinard m: 16 February 1843 Richland Co, OH ... 2 Mary A. Myers ... 2 Isreal Myers ... 2 Sarah A. Myers ... 2 Lydia Myers ... 2 Henry K. Myers b: 21 December 1834 Carroll Co, MD ....... +Anna Shoemaker b: of Chester Twp, Wayne co, OH ....... 3 Allen Gilbert Myers ....... 3 John W. Myers ....... 3 Mary E. Myers ....... 3 David N. Myers ....... 3 Bertha B. Myers ... 2 Julia A. Myers Sam, please let us know if either of these families match information you have! Thanks. 2. Dear List: You can find my website at: http://www.familyorigins.com/users/p/i/e/Virginia-K-Pierce/FAM02-0001/index.ht m Under my father, Joseph Leander Kimes, it lists the children of his first wife and then starts the next paragraph with "he", making it sound like the last child listed is married to my mother, Lavada Boyd. The sentence would have been easier to understand if it had begun with Joseph Leander Kimes. Virginia Kimes Pierce VPierce851@aol.com

    3. Thanks, Jennifer! Noticed it listed the birthplace of both Matilda and her father, John Kimes, as Chester, O. Wanted to verify WHERE that was, so used the "1895 U.S. Atlas" located at: http://www.livgenmi.com/1895 The site gives this information on Chester, OH. City or Town Name - Chester Population - 192 County - Meigs Area of State - southeast Has Post Office? yes Has Railroad? no Has Express Office? no Jennifer wrote: > > I finally received the death certificate for Matilda > White.
