Son of Martha Stell 1821 - 1908 and Valentine Kimes, Jr. 1811 - 1892 My mother, Beatrice Victoria Kimes Miller, 1912 -1986 was the 9th child born to Thomas Henry Kimes and Mary LuCinda Ford Kimes. Thomas Carl Kimes was the 10th and last child. "Uncle Carl" was cremated in Southern California and his ashes scattered at sea, in accordance with his wishes. My g-g-grandfather was Solomon KIMREY/KIMERY, b. about 1811, m. about 1834 Hannah MANCILL, b. about 1815. Earliest I've found him is Washington Co., TN 1840 census. He was in Murray Co., GA per the 1850 census, and Marion Co., AL in 1860, before settling in Benton/Tippah County, MS before 1870. Possibility that his last name evolved from KIMBROUGH/KIMBRO, but am trying to find him under any and all spelling variations. FamilySearch.com showed him as being Solomon KINNEY--maybe an error in transcribing KIMREY. His descendants spell our name as KIMERY. Would be interested in hearing about any mystery SOLOMONs in the KEIM or related name variations. At this point, I'm starting to think he was an alien from outer space! Peggy Kimery Mitchell

In prior postings, you asked who the girls married: I propose the following: ED62, Northampton Co., Bethlehem, Pa., Arthur F RADMAN, age 24, b. Pa, wife Elsie I, age 22, daughter Mildred J., age 1. Interestingly, I did not find Owen! He must be miss-spelled somehow. Take care, Penny
Some of you are still looking for your ancestors that lived in Ohio ca 1820. In an effort to identify some of these earlier residents, I ran a search for KEIM/K-ME/and K-MES in Ohio on the Bureau of Land Management site at http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ There weren't very many listed in the database, but BLM only has about 40% of the land patents issued for the years between 1820 - 1908 listed on their site. Perhaps this list will help some of you. NOTE: the date given is the date they signed; not the date they settled on the land. Penny shared with me the following info. from the 1860 Bethlehem twp, Northampton Co.,PA census: Film 0020581, pg.308 Andrew Keim, 44, male, farmer, 4000/1500 Elizabeth, 40, female Christiana, 14, female, attended school w/in the year Owen, 12, male, attended school w/in the year Camille, 5 Joseph, farm laborer Christiana, 62, female Catherine, 27, female Andrew's parents were Jacob Keim and Christiana Weber. I think the Christana 62 is Andrew's mother, and the Catherine 27 was his sister (her age that yr. would actually have been 37).Joseph is probably Andrew's bro. who was born ca. 1827. Owen is my direct ancestor (see prior postings), and we know Andrew's daughter Christiana. I am "supposing" that Camille, 5, is the Mrs. George Hartman mentioned in Owen's obit. Where was Clayton A.(or A. Clayton),Andrew's other son, in 1860? Not yet born? With relatives? Danke to Penny for saving me the months of waiting for an interlibrary loan of the film.
Has anyone on this list purchased the "Epitaphs" reference listed for sale at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/3005/graves.html
Chris sent me this note a while back: The Berks County Association for Preservation of Graveyards (BCAGP) mentions the Snyder cemetery in their Feb. 1997 newsletter, online at this address: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/3005/epitaphs/epitaphs3.html Search for "Snyder" about 1/4 the way down this page. __________________ That writing was in 1997. Now, four years later, I wonder if the walls are yet repaired. BTW, for those interested, the homepage for the BCAGP http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/3005/graves.html

For those familiar with Berks Co and the KEIMs that lived there, a paragraph at http://www.pa-roots.com/~berks/church/chlocate.html gives a description for "OLEY AKA HILL CHURCH" (use "Edit" on your browser taskbar to do a search). Is this the same church MANY of Johannes Keim's children attended? The one referred to as "Oley Church in the Hills" Cindy
Anyone interested in digging into church records for Berks Co, PA, may want to take a look at http://www.pa-roots.com/~berks/church/church.html
This might be what some of you have been looking for.... a way to work on a joint project with someone you never see. The following article states this database is designed so anyone with email and access to the internet can use it. To find out more about "A Free Online Database That You Can Share" See--> http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/columns/eastman/3624.asp

Sections on the WEIDNER Family of Berks County, PA from "Historical and Biographical Annals of Berks County" by Morton Montgomery is included in the PAGenWeb Archives. Go to --> http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm Enter the search term - Weidner AND Keim. Select "PA" as the state to search. The hit labelled "Biography: Weidner Family, Berks County, PA" is the one I read. It states Leah WEIDNER married to Israel KEIM and settled in the vicinity of Milton, PA. Anyone know where Israel fits?
Correction - George Wesley isn't a child of Rev. Samuel Kime, however, am positive that there is some connection as other children were named Phillip Wesley and George Alfred. Dena -----Original Message----- This is part of my family line......at least another descendant of Rev. Samuel Clarence Kime. The person mentioned in the article, Clayton Henry Kime is the son of Henry Clay Kime who is the son of Rev. Samuel Clarence Kime. Also, George Wesley Kime is another child of Rev. Samuel Clarence Kime.
Cindy, This is part of my family line......at least another descendant of Rev. Samuel Clarence Kime. The person mentioned in the article, Clayton Henry Kime is the son of Henry Clay Kime who is the son of Rev. Samuel Clarence Kime. Also, George Wesley Kime is another child of Rev. Samuel Clarence Kime. I am going to have to take a much closer look at this article as it stated that Clayton Henry was in Grants Pass, Oregon....just 20 miles down the road. If you want more information, please let me know.
