Here's the info from the 1860 Elkhart Co, IN census: KEIM, John age 64 PA Sarah 66 PA Henry age 32 PA Nancy age 31 PA (Henry's wife, Nancy Alwine) John age 23 PA Eliza age 11 IN Elizabeth age 9 IN James age 8 IN Eve age 6 IN My notes don't show WHO was listed head-of-household, or whether they were in the same household. (Could be Henry's household..... looks like some of Henry's children.) I did note all WERE listed on the same page of the census - pg. 365. Noah Keim, son of John and Sarah (Blough) Keim, was living in Elkhart Co. in 1850, and John and Sarah's son, Henry, married Nancy Alwine in Elkhart Co, in 1849. The family was in the area so it certainly seems the John and Sarah listed in the census would be John and Sarah (Blough) Keim. Can I prove it? NO. Hello Everyone, I haven't posted anything to the list in quite a long time. So far I haven't been able to connect my KEIMS to anyone else's here. I've been a lurker for the most part. So many of the names are the same but no connections. My family is from /Callicoon/Jeffersonville, Sullivan County, NY. and moved to Scranton and Moscow, Lackawanna County, PA I only know of my Great grandfather, John Henry KEIM moving here. I'm on vacation this week, so.... I started my week in the cemetery where some of my husband's family is buried. Well, I found some KEIM family stones. I don't know if they're connected to me as yet. (I haven't checked against my data yet). Milwaukee Cemetery is located in Milwaukee, Lackawanna County, PA., which is still largely farm area. The cemetery is very well kept. It is about 10 miles from Scranton, PA Here is what I found there: These are all separate stones Jacob Keim Died April 3, 1862 34 yrs 3 mos. 6 days there is an inscription in smaller letters below, but it is unreadable. It is basically bumps and few indentions now. below that it says J. A. Kiernsted, Scranton, PA (I'm not sure yet but I think that may be the stone maker) Phoebe J. Wife of Jacob Keim Died June 30, 1869 Aged 32 yrs 5 mos 16 days William H. Son of Jacob and Phoebe Keim Born Oct 17, 1859 Died Feb. 20, 1878 Mary A. Wife of John Keim Feb. 22, 1832 Nov 25, 1854 Henry B. Son of John and Mary A. Keim Died Oct 23, 1863 Aged 1 month 12 days These dates on Mary and Henry's stones are from newer stones than 1800's. So if Henry is Mary's child I believe he died in 1853. The stones look like they are from around 1930-50. I believe John remarried from these stones next. John Son of John and Anna M. Yes these are the sons of Joseph Keim. The Keim Cemetery (or burial plot) is in one corner of a quarter section of ground that was owned in the early 1900's by the Jacob Keim listed below. I have listed the children of Joseph and their spouses at the end of this e-mail. Joseph was a brother of my gg-grandfather David Keim.
