    2. Harold Davey
    3. Cindy, I do not see any connection between this OrangeCo Henry Kimes and Philip Kime. Philip's son, Henry, resided GuilfordCo, NC, 1782-1806, until he moved to ClarkCo, IN. One of Henry's daughters, Anna, was born in OrangeCo, however. Henry's son, Heynrich "Henry", b. 1789, was too young to be the 1800 OrangeCo Henry. 1788, 1 Nov: Henry obtained 75 A., Stinking Quarter, GuilfordCo, NC. 1790 US Census: resided N. Carolina. 1796, 27 March: Henry bought land from John Morris, GuilfordCo, NC. DB 8?:078 1797, 10 Nov: Henry bought land from John Noe, GuilfordCo, NC. DB 6?:386 1800, 28 July: Henry bought land from Freeman Burrow, GuilfordCo, NC. DB 10:067 1805: Henry bought land from David Coble, GuilfordCo, NC. But, that statement came from a very reputable source! Anyway, in trying to FIND some KIMESes in Sumner Co, I've been searching the net this morning, looking for references. So far, no hits! But I did run across one listing that will be of interest to someone - a John Kimes connected with Orleans Parish in Louisiana. Court Records, 1813-1835 http://nutrias.org/~nopl/inv/1jdc/j1jdc.htm I didn't realize there were KIMESes in Louisiana that early! Whose branch do these folks belong to?

Anyone have any ideas which Samuel Keim this was? BTW, Owen Co, IN is southwest of Indianapolis maybe 35-40 miles.

    3. Many of you are long-time researchers and collected lots of data on our surname for years before the internet came into use. NOW that you know more about your particular branch of the family, what are you doing with that "filed away" data? Have you considered that the information you have stored away in your files MIGHT be the missing "link" for someone else's research? PLEASE take time to post your "finds" somewhere on the internet. This list provides but one place to post info of this sort, but there are other places to post, too. You might choose to share this information on: GenForum http://genforum.familytreemaker.com/search/ GenConnect http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/indx/FamAssoc.html County sites http://www.usgenweb.org/statelinks.html ALSO, if you are hesitant to post this information ANYWHERE, please consider sending it to Diana or myself. We'll make good use of the information, sharing it with related parties or retaining it for future reference. Thanks! Diana <wdavis1@sc.rr.com> Cindy <ckimes@mvillage.com>
