There was a John S. Kimes, b. 08 April 1886, that lived and died in ID. Wonder if he is the SAME one as the John, son of Amos and Hattie Kimes of Shalerville, OH? See--> http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/data/oh+index+7047255797756+F

In 1850, we find Tobias Keim living in Middlebury Twp, Elkhart Co, IN; 1860, Elkhart Twp, Elkhart Co, IN. I don't know if HE moved, or if the townships lines moved.

Several weeks ago some postings were made referencing Northampton Co, PA KEIM's. That post included the following: <<here's another KEIM Northampton Co. family: << listing for a Susan KEIM. In the marriage license application it states she was born 1824 in Northampton County, with a residence of South Easton, PA. It says she was the daughter of Samuel KEIM and his wife Sally. She had been previously married to a man named DEITERLINE, who died August 1877. This application was for a marriage that took place on 31 May 1893 in Waverly, Lackawanna County, PA to a Simon BIESECKER, resident of Waverly. On it she states that she was 69 years old (1824) born in Northampton County. <<snip>> Simon and Susan were married on 31 May 1893 in Waverly, Lackawanna County, PA. >> I'm reveiwing the following census records. Could this be the Samuel and Sally KEIM parents referenced above? OR is there another Samuel? OR is this two different Samuel's? Samuel KEIM, Plainfield Twp., Northampton Co., PA, 1820, pg. 278 2 males under 10 1 male 26-45 1 female 10-15 1 female 26-45 Samuel KEIME, Plainfield Twp., Northampton Co., PA, 1830, pg. 82A 1 male under 5 1 male 15-20 1 male 30-40 1 male 70-80 2 females under 5 2 females 5-10 1 female 30-40 A totally different Samuel shows up in 1840: Samuel KEIM, Bethlehem Twp, Northampton Co., 1840 1 male 20-30 1 female 20-30 Looks like 'newlyweds' to me. Does anyone have any Samuel's in Northampton Co.? Perhaps this info will help someone. Penny
Can anyone place this Henry? If all three census is the same Henry, then I have lost some members, somehow. Some of us are working on the (William) Martin KIME/KEIM mystery. Henry KIME, Bethlehem Twp, Northampton Co., 1820, pg 217: 1 male under 10 1 male 10-15 1 male 26-46 1 female 10-15 1 female 10-25 1 female 45 plus Henry KIME, Bethlehem Twp, Northampton Co., 1830, pg 123: 1 male 10-15 1 male 40-50 1 female 40-50 Henry KEIM, Bethlehem Twp, Northampton Co., 1840, pg ? 1 male 40-50 1 female 5-10 1 female 40-50 I have the following observations, IF all three census are the same Henry: 1. It appears as if in 1820 either his mother or mother-in-law was living with him. (explaining the 1 female 45 plus in the house). 2. By 1830, we have lost 1 young boy, and the girls. Assuming they were at the eldest of the age group, they either married off or died. The eldest female was also gone. 3. By 1840, Henry and his wife appear to be around, with a new girl aged 5-10. If William Martin KIME was part of this family, was born in 1819, and stayed at home until enlisting in 1838, then it IS possible that he could be the male 10-15 in the house in 1830. I'm curious to hear any other observations or theories. There are several other KEIM and KIME in the area, and I'm in the process of examing the census. I will continue to post what I find. Happy hunting, Penny
