Cindy K. and I have discovered a missing branch. My wife's grandfather had a sister Francis Kimes, daughter of Campbell Edmunson And Ann E. Kimes, that we never could locate. Campbell E. Kimes is youngest son of Conrad Kimes of Lincoln County TN. After Cindy scanned the 1870 and 1870 census, she found in the Attala MS records, Francis married Andrew Dickerson and together they had ssix children. Hi, I am also researching the name Keim, that is on my husband's side. The farthest back I go is a George Keim born in Hesse-Cassel, Courhessen, Germany. He came to America in 1849 and settled his family in Cleveland, Ohio. His son Henry Keim was born in 1852 in Cleveland. Any connection?? My husband's KIMES family migrated from Dauphin Co, PA, to Wayne Co, OH, around 1833. The children moved with their parents, even the married ones. Another line that moved to Wayne Co, Ohio in 1828 or thereabouts was Conrad KIME (Johann Conrad Kime), b. 1764. Conrad was a descendant of Johannes (Hans) Keim of Oley, PA. We haven't proven Peter was directly related to Conrad. It looks like Peter's father was more likely from a Chester Co, PA, line. SO, do any of you (besides Conrad's descendants) find your ancestors in Wayne Co, OH, around 1830s or so? __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail Mobile Take Yahoo! Mail with you! Of particular interest is one Stephen Kimes listed on tax records for Salisbury Twp, Lancaster Co. State archives list the following: 1800 Heaven (sic) Kimes, freeman L5 1810 Steaven Kimes (sic) L5 1811 Stephen Kimes L66.0.40 1812-1813 Stephen Kimes L66.0.20 1814-1816 not listed This indicates that Stephen Kimes was living there from some time in 1800 until about 1813/1814. He should be listed in the 1800 and 1810 censuses, but I've not yet found him. I've tried searching the index using various spellings for KIMES and Stephen. I've checked each page of Salisbury Twp. NO STEPHEN or anything even close! Was he living w/someone else? Was the name so misspelled he can't be I.D.ed? Any other possible reasons he would not be listed? Input, please! --- Cindy Kimes <[email protected]> wrote: > Peter and Nancy Kimes were living in Salisbury Twp, Lancaster Co, > PA > in 1810.... Peter and Nancy Kimes were living in Salisbury Twp, Lancaster Co, PA in 1810.... I'm wondering if anyone else has found their KIMES/KEIM/KIME, etc. ancestors in that area around that time. [Maybe using a different approach will produce a connection to my husband's line.] __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
