The 1860 census for Moorefield Twp, Clark Co, OH, also lists this Euphemia. She is listed age 51, with real estate worth $2300, b. in VA. There are several others in the same household... one, a Lavinia Castine, age 71, b. in VA... somewhat the same data as Levin C. of the 1870 census. --- Cindy Kimes <[email protected]> wrote: > > Last year we read: > > Pleasant Hill Cemetery info is online at: > http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohclark/cemetery/plsnthl3.htm > Listed is Euphemia, wife of Jacob Kime. Last year we read this: Pleasant Hill Cemetery info is online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohclark/cemetery/plsnthl3.htm Listed is Euphemia, wife of Jacob Kime. Gives her age at death. Believe this is Euphemia Hodges. [Pleasant Hill Cemetery is in Clark County, Ohio.] At the time we discussed IF this was Jacob Kime's second wife and those of you descending from Jacob wondered about the birthdate of this Euphemia. Today I ran across an 1870 census listing for what seems like would be the same Euphemia; these folks were enumerated in Moorefield Twp, Clark Co, OH. KIME Levin C. 82 Retired Farmer Virginia Euphemia 57 Keeping House Virginia Census indicated Levin's parents both of foreign birth. __________________________________ Yahoo! Cindy, Do you have the page ref on K&AF for this? I can look at it & see what exactly it does say. A couple years back someone emailed me stating that Samuel was the son of George Keim (b. ca 1733), based on data from the Dec 1889 issue of Keim & Allied Families. I don't have access to K & AF so have not been able to read exactly what was written. In Mary Leah Kime Pratz's genealogical records are a similar list, but some different dates. She didn't mention where she found/read this info, but wrote: Johannes (Hans) Keim, founder of the name in America, arrived in Philadelphia, PA. in 1698, but as no lists were kept because of the small immigration, it was not recorded. He returned to Europe and returned with his wife in 1707 - no record of that. Michael Keim landed September 4, 1728. He was the first immigrant after lists were recorded. William Keim landed August 29, 1730 Jacob Keim landed September 26, 1737 George Keim landed September 26, 1737 Peter Keim landed August 31, 1750 [Mary Leah Kime Pratz, born May 15, 1886] --- [email protected] wrote: > > No, but I did come accrossed other keim's that immigrated around > same time > Johannes did. No, but I did come accrossed other keim's that immigrated around same time Johannes did. Don't look like he was the first Keim here. There was a Michel Keim Sept 4,1728, and a William Keim Aug 29,1730, Johannes Keim Sept 25,1754, Daniel Keim Sept 8,1753 Jac (Jacob) Keim Dec 5,1737,took oath on the 24th of same year, was sick when first arrived it said. Hans George Keim 1749 no month or day. Maybe these where the ones he was talking about? they all immigrated to Pennsylvania. Didnt find anything for kime.

Albert Peter Kime told his descendants that "three or four Kime/Kimes brothers came over and settled in PA. One was a millwright and one was a barrelmaker. They were friendly with the Indians at first. When the Indians became hostile, they and the other settlers built a fort." That fort is now Harrisburg, PA. Does any of this "match" what others have been told/heard? _________________________ ALBERT PETER KIME was the son of DANIEL KIME and LOUISA PANNESMITH. He was born 29 March 1862 in Cumberland Co, PA, and died 1956 in Elkhart Co, IN. __________________________________ Yahoo! Mary Lynne Ellis wrote: Are you related to Alva Keim? If so, please let me know-- I have something that may be of interest to you. I purchased a Civil Service Examination report on Ebay which was Alva Keim's -- I used it for a presentation at work. The report was from 1915 and does mention Ozawkie. I would like to see the document get back into the family's hands if possible--Please let me know if you are interested--no charge for the document--just want to find Alva's family. Thank you Mary Ellis <[email protected]> P.S. Yes, you may list my name/email in a message-- I would love to find a home for this! __________________________________ Yahoo!
