Source: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MOWAYNE] Searching for family of Mozuria Campbell Osborne, Thought you might be interested in a 1932 quilt I have that includes the name C.E. Bazzell stitched into it. Here is the best I can make of the embroidery work on my quilt. Most of the names are in script and some are hard to make out. I've arranged the names in alphabetical order. I think it may have been presented to my grandfather, Rev. Wilbert Allen. Ada White, whose name appears on the quilt, is the daughter of Jess Page. (P.S. Ada passed away around the first of December, 2003, just a couple weeks short of her 103rd birthday. I believe her birthday was Christmas Day). Ada was able to tell me a lot about all of these people - so much that I was unable to get it recorded. I read the names to Uncle Radie Page January 26, 2004, and he was familiar with most of the people. He says "Bazzell" is pronounced with the accent on the first syllable. One interesting "find" in that searchable database is the information given on a "Mollie Kimes" that died 01 January 1926 in Piedmont, Wayne Co, MO. The informant Tom Kimes stated she was born in Georgia. Given the "clues" on the certificate, and information a couple of you have shared, was Mollie one of Hiram Jefferson Kimes's wives? According to the searchable database Missouri has online for deaths occurring 1910 1955, Franklin D. Kimes died May 29, 1926 in New Madrid Co, MO. In Franklin's case, they even have a copy of the death certificate online to view. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Missouri Death Certificates, 1910 1955 http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/#search --- [email protected] wrote: > > source: History of Southeast Missouri; Published 1888 by The > Goodspeed > Publishing Co; page 898. > > "Franklin D. I have a Family Group Sheet sent to me by Jessie Peak (now deceased) several years ago. It lists George W. Kimes and Nancy L. as the seventh child of Conrad Kymes (Kime or Kimes) and Elizabeth Cooper. Virginia Kimes Pierce [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected])
Ran across this recently - information I don't recall ever seeing before, so thought I'd share it with the rest of the Keim/Kimes researchers. I believe the Keim/Kimes lineage of this Franklin D Kimes (aka Francis D) is: his parents = George Washington Kimes (circa 1812- 1861) & Nancy Lee (died 1865) G W Kimes/Kymes' parents = Conrad Keim (1763-1835) & Elizabeth Cooper (1775-1861) Conrad Keim's parents = Heinrich (Henry) Keim (1732-1802) & Anna Catherina Reber source: History of Southeast Missouri; Published 1888 by The Goodspeed Publishing Co; page 898. "Franklin D. Kimes was born in Giles County, Tenn., December 15, 1847, and is a son of George W. and Nancy (Lee) Kimes, both natives of Tennessee, the latter of Lincoln County. After their marriage they resided in their native State until 1850, when they removed to Missouri. They, however, soon returned to Tennessee and located in Weakley County, where they remained until the fall of 1859. Coming again to Missouri they located in Pemiscot County, where Mr. Kimes died on February 11, 1861. Mrs. Kimes remained in Pemiscot County until the fall of 1863, when she moved to Scott County, where she died in 1865. Directly after his mother's death Franklin D. came to New Madrid County, in which county and Pemiscot County he has since made his home. He was married in the latter county on February 23, 1870, to Sarah Wright, a native of Missouri, and a daughter of William Wright, who was born of English parents. After his marriage Mr. Kimes was engaged in farming in Pemiscot County for two years, when he removed to New Madrid County, and was farming alternately in the two counties until 1879, when he located on his present farm in Lesieur Township, New Madrid County. He and his wife had six children: Ella, William F., David C., John P. (who died when three years of age), Edward E., and Jesse W. Mr. and Mrs. Kimes are consistent members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He is a Master Mason, and also a member of the Agricultural Wheel, being president of his lodge and one of the executive committee of the State lodge." I may be very distantly related to this family. Conrad Keim & my 3xgreat-grandfather Abraham John Keim are thought to be brothers. Sherry in Colorado (yes, we already have snow in the mountains)
Some of you have seen the photos circulating the "web" under Subject: More Than A Paint Job see--> http://stressbuster1.net/mural/indexolder.html After looking, I too was curious and googled "KEIM mineral paints" to see what could be found. Found this website: http://www.keimmineralsystems.com/history.htm which tells the historical background of "KEIM Mineral Systems" and a little about the man who developed it - A.W. KEIM. Anyone related to A. W. KEIM? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Rec'd some add'l info on KIMEs in Seneca Co, OH. Putting it with other data, THINK we've discovered what became of REBECCA A. KIME, daughter of ISAAC KIME and ELIZABETH HAYES. IT LOOKS LIKE... Rebecca Ann Kime married Jeremiah Boyer on Oct 21, 1860 in Seneca Co, OH. They had one child, Romanus Albert Boyer, born August 1861. Jeremiah fought in the Civil War (68th Regiment, OH Infantry). By 1870, Rebecca was widowed and living w/her parents again. She never remarried, but remained in Seneca Co, living near her son and his family. She likely died between 1910 and 1920. Using family notes, research culled from the Keim-L archives, and Penny & Leslie's transcriptions of the St. Thomas archives, these appear to be the 17 children of Owen Milton Keim (1848-1914) and Catherine R.
