Tidbits from the Koehler list below. Don't forget the Kaylor Rootsweb Resource pages at: http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/k/a/KAYLOR/ Scroll down on the page and find search engines and don't miss the Icons for the GenConnect Query Board, Obits, Bios, Deeds, Pensions, Wills, Bible records. Feel free to post on the appropriate board. Queries are picking up, lets add some more at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/k/a/KAYLOR/queries ------------------ Church records found in Wenings Germany take our Koehler ancestors back to early 1600's. Occupation was listed as "iron-ore smelter under Kurfuerst of Sachsen in Graessling. Have not determined yet as to where Graessling was located. Rayna Koehler - Oklahoma City ------------------ Thanks, Russ! The response of Keil (to the far North by the sea, I suppose) doesn't quite fit with my family speaking high German...but then for the time I am referring to...it was all regional dialects :-) Thanks again. And, that is a great idea by the way, asking whom on this list has traced their ancestors back the furthest and to what area would that be? Good thinking!
