    3. Dorothy, Ah, yes, I have heard of John Kaylor and Catherine Haines in my 26 years of research. I have a partial family sheet for them but it sure doesn't sound like the same family? Only thing familiar is the spouse - Catherine Haines. I am going to post this to the Kaylor Mail List and maybe someone can help us sort out the difference here. I know we have some Pike Co IL Kaylor's on the List. We even have different Counties in OH. Not sure, without looking , where Ross Co. is in relation to Preble Co.? 3. Hi All, Just wanted everyone to know about my new Family Web page. I am working on it, have a long ways to go, but the direct descendants of our Kaylor and Tedrow connections are listed. I hope to add more on each line later, so bookmark my page and visit often. I went wild with graphics, so if the page takes awhile to download, let me know and I will try get rid of some. Sometimes it is slow for me, other times quick. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~makaylor/index.html And for the KAYLOR & variant researchers, don't forget about the GenConnect Cluster Boards where one can submit queries, bios, obits, wills, pensions, deeds, bible records. I just put our John Kaylor's bio and obit online a couple of days ago. URL's for these boards are below or you can find them on my Web page by clicking on the link "Kaylor Resource Page". 1. [KAYLOR] Amanda Caler/Kaylor
    2. Hi everyone, My ancestor is Amanda born about 1844 in N.C. At her marriage to William Foster her name is spelled Caler and on her son's death certificate it is spelled Kaylor. I have been looking for her parents for some time and think I may have found them. Maybe some of you are researching this family. They are in Forsyth Co., Georgia in 1850 and looks like mom is Hannah Kaylor born 1781 and living close by are Daniel Kaylor born 1810, Abel Kaylor born 1813, Cain Kaylor born 1826 and Peter Kaylor born 1808. Now Peter Kaylor has a daughter, Amanda, born 1844 - good possibility I think. Look familiar to anyone? Betty Cason

The Trave sailed from Bremen, Germany and arrived in Baltimore Harbor October 23, 1906. Family oral tradition indicates that he worked as a stevedore on the docks at Locust Point, Baltimore to earn passage for his family. The "List or Manifest of Alien Passengers for the United States Immigration at Port of Arrival" for the North German Lloyd Steamship, "Chemnitz" proves his wife Anna's arrival with their four children in Baltimore to be October 17, 1907. These children were: Adam, age 7 years; Johannes, age 5 years; Catherine, age 1 year and 6 months; and, Alfons, age 3 months. Anna and Jacob would have an additional three children born in the United States: Jacob, Mathew and John Joseph. The 1906 Trave Manifest also indicates that Jacob declared that he would be living with his brother-in-law ! > Jacob Keler (probably Koehler) at 1435 Richardson Street, Locust Point in Baltimore, Maryland. Anna's papers also declare that she would be living with her husband, Jacob Haspert, at that same address a year later in October 1907. The Ship's papers indicate that Jacob was 28 years old when he arrived in Baltimore Harbor October 23, 1906, establishing his birth in 1878. He arrived in Baltimore with $11.00 in his pocket. He listed his Russian occupation as farm laborer and indicated that he could read and write. His obituary printed in the Queen Anne's County Record Observer in 1957 states that he was 77 years of age at his death, establishing that he was born in 1880. The Ship's manifest states that Jacob was born in Col-Kohler, Russia. His last permanent residence before emigration was the Village of Col-Kohler, Russia. No entry was given for his nearest relative. However, his obituary states that his parents were William and Sophia Haspert. It is not known if William and Sop! > hia came to America or stayed in the German village in Russia. > > Anna and Jacob purchased a farm on Kent Island near Piney Creek approximately 1926. The farmland was poor and they evolved to keeping an inn, The Shamrock Inn. The Inn was probably so named to downplay the family's German heritage. The earliest record for Anna Haspert is the "List or Manifest of Alien Passengers for the United States Immigration at Port of Arrival" for the North German Lloyd Steamship, "Chemnitz". The Chemnitz sailed from Bremen, Germany October 3, 1907 and arrived in Baltimore Harbor October 17, 1907. The Ship's papers indicate that Anna was 27 years old when she arrived in Baltimore Harbor October 17, 1907, establishing her birth in 1880. Her Certificate of Citizenship, issued December 9, 1939 states that she was 57 years old, establishing her birth in 1882. Her obituary printed in the Queen Anne's County Record Observer November 27, 1958 states that she was born February 10, 1882. The Ship's manifest states that Anna was born in Kamika (The District of Kame! > nka), Russia and her last permanent residence before emigration was the Village of Koehler, Russia. Her nearest relative was her father, Adam Koehler, of the Village Koehler, Glabatow, The District of Kaminka (Kamenka), Russia. It is interesting to note that Anna's maiden name was Koehler; her birthplace and last place of residence was also "Koehler". > > > > > > > > ==== KOEHLER Mailing List ==== > Rootsweb <GIVES> us so much. 3. It is my wish to all of you that you have a Happy and Blessed Holiday with your family and friends! Here in central IL we will be having a White Christmas, four inches of the those beautiful flakes fell last night, creating a Christmas Card scene. Our blue spruce with all its lights was beautiful with the snow falling around and on the branches. Our family had their get-together last night and it couldn't have been more perfect. And with temps in the single digits, it is and still will be around tomorrow. The Merriest to each of You!! Mary Ann Kaylor Morgan, Sangamon County IL CC & Mail List Adm. 2. ~~Leslie~~
    3. I made a mistake in the subject line when sending out the information for the KÖHLER lists. I do apologize. I am the 'owner' for the KOEHLER, KOHLER & KAHLER lists. Mary Ann KAYLOR is the 'owner' for the KAYLOR and KALER lists. Glenn G. Geisheimer is the 'owner' for the KELLER and KELLAR lists. (Some people with the KELLER/KELLAR spelling have Germanic origins.) The 3 of us are the 'owners' to whom I was referring when I said that among the 3 of us, we have the KÖHLER lists pretty well covered. ~Leslie (Bridges) Kohler~

    3. Good Morning All- Well, I have finally "gone and done it"! <BG> I've agreed to take the KOHLER and KAHLER lists under my wings so that hopefully we can keep some continuity. Between 3 of us, who are watching these KÖHLER lists, I will hope we have things fairly well in hand. (I still believe that one list makes a lot more sense, but it is obvious that RootsWeb does not agree. <G>) MERRY CHRISTMAS/HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~Leslie (Bridges) Kohler~ P.O.Box 8137, Glendale, AZ 85312-8137 P.O.Box 276, Carrollton, MO 64633-0276
