FYI - Kaylor List...old to Kaler list.... Ah, we have some deep researching to do here, or should I say the descendants of John Kaylor and Catherine Haines do. That isn't me :-) but I am anxious to see how this pans out. Please keep me and the List posted. One thing not brought up here...there seems to be evidence in Pike Co. Since my last query on Peter Kaylor I have learned that he married Mahala Martin in 1835 in Lincoln Co., N.C. Is anyone on the list researching the Kaylors that were in Lincoln Co., N.C. in the early 1800s? Thanks much. Betty Cason
Peter and Mahala Kaylor were in Forsyth Co., Ga. in 1850 with their children: 1) William P. born about 1839, 2) Amanda born 1844, 3) James M. born 1846, 4) John W. born about 1849, 5) Sarah Elizabeth born 1851, and 6) Jasper Kaylor born about 1854. Haven't been able to find this family since 1850. Does anyone know where they went or what happened to them? Thanks much. Betty Cason

Hi - has anyone come across a family with the spelling of C instead of K - CAYLOR? This would be in Ohio/Indiana area. My g-g-grandmother was Nancy CAYLOR & she married Emanuel Bushong STERN about 1837 in Indiana. They had 8-9 children: Martha Jane, Susannah, Samuel C., Margaret Ellen, John Abraham, Daniel Madison, Isaac, Mary Catherine & possible a Jane. All were born either in Clarksville or Noblesville, Hamilton cty, Indiana. I've found several listings for a Nancy CAYLOR but am not sure who her parents are. Attention Leslie (again :-): Hi again, I goofed and sent the second message from Billie first. Sorry about that! Now it appears my Family sheet on John and Catherine Haines Kaylor, could be correct. Again, I stress, one must document, if this is your lineage, to verify the correctness of either lineage that has been offered. Billie has been in this about 4 years longer than I and I respect her work over the years for the Kaylors'. She has more info on the VA Kaylor's than I do. But the door is always open for both of us to accept new ideas and approaches and lineage! If you have another approach to this, let us hear from you. Mary Ann At 10:50 AM 01/19/2000 -0500, Billie R. Hi List and Attention Leslie for the other variants: Forward from Billie R. Lewis, an avid Kaylor researcher for years (that I have had contact with for most of those years :-) I am sure this will help someone and does show that the variants can be confusing and shouldn't be overlooked!! And it does also show, that one cannot always take every family sheet as documented proof. Seems my family sheet on John Kaylor and Catherine Haines, might not be correct. Even if it came from the IGI which isn't known for correctness, they just accept what is sent to them. Always document, if your lineage!! Wasn't mine, so I didn't go any further with it! Yes, Billie I wish it were my Daniel Kaylor, too...LOL Mary Ann > From Billie: > >According to the Kaylor book, the immigrants Johannes, Michael and >Mathias were thought to have been brothers.Mathias was born on 10 Feb, >1748 in Germany and died at age of ninety.
