John, There are all kinds of software solutions for this, and these normally include Julian-Gregorian conversions, church-civil calendar date conversions, etc. Some genealogy software like Family Tree Maker include a "Date Calculator" utility that does the same thing, basically. I used to use a shareware program called "Days" or "Tag" that was good, but can't find it at the moment. Here is a shareware site that has a few: www.rocketdownload.com/software/days.html. Look for "Easy Date Converter" or 7000 Years Calendar." for examples.
